[That’s what the world is, after all: an endless battle of contrasting memories.]
“You’re going to need sleep. You’re going to need hydration. You’re going to need nutrition. You’re going to need to move your body (according to your level of mobility). You’re going to need to spend some time in nature. You’re going to need connection –to be valued, rubbed, massaged, hugged, listened to, adored, etc. at minimum. These are all very basic human needs, not desires. BASIC HUMAN NEEDS.”
— India Ame’ye, Author, The Melody of Love

a prayer of gratitude
Fun fact. I am a psychiatrist, and I frequently tell my patients (the ones with whom I have the appropriate rapport) that (1) they should go outside during the day because they could see a really weird bird (the underlying reason being: going outside and doing things will help make you less depressed, while staying inside and thinking about how depressed you are will make you more depressed) and (2) if you kill yourself it would be a shame because you’d never get to see another weird bird. AND THIS WORKS AS REASONING FOR PEOPLE. Gratitude for seeing a weird bird is very real. Baruch hashem.
