Sold Out On You
Didn't have time to put the trailer. Started watching it a couple of days ago and finished it today. I liked this series. It showed us the world of home shopping networks and cosmetic companies. They explored the consequences of tampering with ingredients that can damage customers' health. It also dealt with insomnia. It is a story about redemption and starting again.
I liked the characters and their arcs. I think the townspeople kind of took advantage of Matthew and gave him their back as soon as he was in a jam. I'm glad that Yang Sang Keum didn't him that way.
Dam Ye Jin was a character that could be persistent to a fault, but we can't help like her as she grow
It is a nice story, made up of characters that will make you wish them to succeed.
I recommend it.
Just finished watching The Point Men, film inspired by real events. Intense story that keeps you at the edge of your seat as you watch two men fight to get hostages safe back home.
Really good movie.
Rewatched The Swindlers.
Rewatched A Millionaire's First Love.
Rewatching Crash Landing on You.
My Youth
Sweet. That's the best word to describe this series. It is not a happy, bubbly story. It's not devastatingly sad. It's sweet, with its touch of cute and fun, with it's touch of sadness and redemption.
Soon Woo Hae grew basically alone. Raised his little sister when his father was too immature and left a teenager to raise a little girl. Kim Seok Joo enters the picture by marriage as his mother marries Hae's father. And here is the thing, I love that relationship between Hae, Seok Joo and Eun Na Ri. These two young men cared for this little girls, teaming up to make sure she had a good life and that she was supported at home and in academics.
Sung Je Yeon and Mo Tae Rin know Hae and Seok Joon since their school days and now as adults, when they meet again, there are things that just fall naturally back to how they were and others that are born now. Again, I like the relationship between these four characters too.
It is the relationships - in all their variations - that make this series sweet.
I loved it.
Currently watching My Youth.
Law and the City
I liked this story about five friends who work on the same building. They are all lawyers with their own situations, and this friendship that unites them and give them strength to face challenges head on. There is growth in each of them as they discover themselves with each case they undertake. At the end you are happy to see each of them shed their skin and work towards their dreams and remain the best friends they have been for years.
Sweet and uplifting. I really liked it!

Even If This Love Disappears Tonight (Movie)
If you loved 51st Dates, the you will definitely love this movie. Han Seo Yoon suffers from anterograde amnesia, which means that every night when she goes to sleep, her brain resets and when she wakes up she is back on the day she had the accident that provoked this amnesia in her. That's where the similarity between 51st Date and Even If This Love Disappears Tonight ends.
Han Seo Yoon keeps digital and paper journals, she keeps notes all over her room and documents her days and the people she cares about in her phone through photos and videos. She wants to keep living even if her memories are stuck in the past.
Kim Jae Won sits next to a boy who is being bullied and in order to end this situation he agrees to ask Seo Yoon to go out with him. He expects her to reject him, just like she has done to others, but he - and their class - is surprised when she accepts with 3 conditions. . . And this is where their story begins.
I won't say anything else because I don't want to spoil it. It is a beautiful story about friendship, love and all the emotions that come with it. I loved this movie and I know you will like it too. Just remember, this is not a comedy.
Phantom Lawyer
Just finished watching this series. Can't go into details because the last episode was aired today and I don't want to give spoilers. All I will say is that that I liked it. If you like series where there are cases to be solved, with a super natural touch balanced with comedy, then this series is for you.
I watched the first one when it came out and loved it, so I had to see this sequel. Went to the movies yesterday with my crew: my mother, my brother, my son and my niece and we had a great time watching these iconic characters on the big screen again.
Started watching Phantom Lawyer.
Michael
Yesterday, I went to the movies with my mom and my brother to watch Michael. I grew up listening to his music, watching his videos in MTV. I know his life is difficult to understand and that there were things that made people question his actions. This film doesn't dwell on those aspects, it focusing on his time as part of the Jackson 5 and how he is able to break free from his father. We get a peak through the window of his lonely childhood, the abuse we all know those children suffered, and his creative process up until the Victory Tour. It ends with a Bad concert but we don't get to see the creative process that went on to produce that album. But I think it was okay, we know the rest.
The cast was really good. Jaafar is a good actor who is able to convey his uncle's emotions through his words, eyes and body language. This is a family produced film, Michael's children and most of his siblings produced it. Except Janet. And that makes you wonder. Like any biopic produced by family or band members it is about honoring their loved one. I know a lot of people think this is also a way to make money out of him, but I choose not to see it that way.
I liked it and if you a Michael Jackson fan, I'm sure you will enjoy it too.
Special Law of Romance
This micro series of 6 episodes that translate to more or less 2 hours is about two shy people that like each other and need a little push to start something they both want. It is sweet and short. Lite and fun to watch. It's nice to see that not all judges need to deal with the darkness lurking in society, but that some work as conflict mediators and look for fairness while staying humane.
