When I was drawing Sayaka for Valentine’s, something worrisome I have been thinking about is the way I portray her character. A lot of people are probably iffy that I only ever seem to paint the more harsh and negative side of Sayaka despite her obviously being a person who has passion for love itself; if she did receive chocolates she would probably react brightly. Sayaka likes the culture of ‘eating together’ and she out of everyone else would appreciate the gesture of being gifted a chocolate box.
That being said, as her character wields duality, I think she would be very upset if she was gifted it during her low moments, as is the collection all my Sayaka works are part of. There are sequences in the show that underline how her understanding of love transitions overtime. Sayaka probably does hate the decay of her own passion the most.
