The Grace to Change

In our times people do not invite truth. In fact, if they could they would only hear what they wanna hear. Its an itching ears generation. But truth is important cause its the actual keys to release from prison.

Imagine if you were held hostage. You imagined the time would come when you would be set free. But because so much time has passed you gave up on the notion that you'd get free. So you got comfortable with your prison conditions and made up in your mind that you're gonna die here. You end up setting things up to stay forever. You come up with games and things. You start talking to the pillow as a friend and you start to look like the room you're staying in. And then one day someone comes in your room and says, "Come on. Let's go!" You are hesitant and confused. The gaurd that comes to set you free looks like everyone else. So you are confused. "Is this a trick?". He says, "No. But we have to hurry. There's not a lot of time." You think about it and decide not to go. He pleads with you. "This may be your only chance to go free. Come on." You relent and the gaurd looks out then looks back at you with sadness in his eyes and he runs out the door and the gate closes back. And it is at that moment you realize that you may have made the biggest mistake of your life.

This is how it is when God sends his prophets and preachers to bring you truth. It is a moment for you to escape from the bondage of this world into his salvation. This moment of conviction which comes from the Truth(Jesus) is the GRACE TO CHANGE. it is the power to be free and change. But most of us have gotten comfortable with our current conditions and are more afraid of change than we are of bondage. The problem is that we may never get another chance to escape or experience conviction which is the GRACE to CHANGE.

The day you hear the Lords voice harden not your hearts. When conviction comes do not reject it because it makes your life inconvenient or uncomfortable. Run to grace at the point of conviction. You may never get another chance to escape.

Delight

Psalms 37:4 says, "Delight yourself also in the Lord and he shall give you the desires of your heart."

Most would assume that the text means that God will give us what we want if we delight ourselves in him. But what this is actuality saying is "He will give us what to desire."

One of the words for desire here is "to entertain ". Entertain yourself also in the Lord and he'll give you the desires of your heart or what to desire. There's a mystery and spiritual principle here if you'll listen.

What you ENTERTAIN gives you WHAT to DESIRE.

You ever notice that when you're watching a McDonald's commercial after while you start to crave a Big Mac? You had no DESIRE for it prior to entertaining those commercials. It's what you entertained that sowed a seed of DESIRE into you. In fact, the McDonald's commercial didn't physically give you the Big Mac. It just gave you the DESIRE.

We have to be careful of what we DELIGHT ourselves in or ENTERTAIN. Its that very thing that gives you What to DESIRE. And what you DESIRE you SEEK. And what you SEEK you FIND. And that produces the FRUIT you manifest. And you are what you EAT.

What you ENTERTAIN creates your DESIRES.

LIVE FROM LOVE

In this day we live in, most of us are chasing something or maybe even running from something. And we all have many different motivations for how we live our lives. I recently watched the movie ‘The Shack’. The message in the movie so pierced my heart that it challenged me to change my motivation. Seeing how God so intensely loves us I wanted to try and live my life from that perspective. If I can live my life from LOVE then I may have the same effect on someone just like the movie effected me. Matthew 22:37-40 talks about loving God with everything and then loving your neighbor as yourself. I figure if can walk out this commandment than I will have lived a life of value. So, I’m challenging myself, my friends, my family, my followers to try and live a life of LOVE. One where we fight to protect that treasure called LOVE. Where we put others in front of ourselves. Cause face it, the society we’re in today is highly selfish and ambitious and everyone is going for their dreams no matter the cost. Working in the music industry from the early 2000’s I’ve seen people step on others backs to get to their goals with no remorse or compassion. I believe that it is possible to be successful in a loving manner. In fact, I believe that LOVE is the true success. So let’s LIVE FROM LOVE. What if we could have a posture of love and do everything through that. We have to ask ourselves concerning our decisions, “Does this move I make reflect my love for God or my neighbor?” If not then we should reconsider our course of action. And I don’t suspect that living this way to be easy or popular, but I do believe it will be rewarding. I’ve been trying it myself and it’s a lot like going for a mile long run when you haven’t run in years or ever. LOL. That hard. But just like anything worth having, you have to work at it. Think how different the world would be if more people would strive to LIVE FROM LOVE. Even if just a fraction of the church would do this, I believe our neighboring communities within the range of the church would see change. Even on social media we can make change. “God does this post reflect my love for you and my neighbor?” Asking questions like this would change the timeline instantly. So consider this challenge and LIVE FROM LOVE. Pastor P
