A love story, loyalty to an incredible brand, heartbreak, and a customer for life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z20CjCim8DM I've recently watched the short film "Worn Wear" made by Patagonia in which several people/families tell their stories of personal journeys wearing Patagonia apparel and how Patagonia urges its customers to buy used apparel as well as repair and reuse the clothing they already own. Watching inspired me to look into my own journey wearing my favorite brand, one hat in particular... Six years ago I bought a Patagonia trucker hat on a road trip west to Colorado to seek new adventure. I never wore hats before, thinking they didn't look good on me but I knew I loved Patagonia and wanted to support them when I went in to their Denver location. I got a brown trucker hat. The rest is history. After that, I never left home without my keys, my cell phone, my wallet, and last but not least, my hat. I proudly wore it everywhere and had many great adventures with it. Last year I was running some trails and to make a long story short, an owl swooped down from behind me and took the hat right off my head. I was heartbroken as the owl sat perched staring at me and then flew off with my hat in its talon, (this is a true story) knowing I might not ever see it again. I tweeted and emailed Patagonia and not surprisingly (it's Patagonia) they sent me a replacement hat for free. It was a really cool thing of them to do but in all honesty, there was something special about that first brown hat and all we had been through together. The replacement was cool, but not my brown hat. I've spent a good amount of time in those woods all around that trail looking for it since, with no success. I thought I would get over it after a while but I'll come across pictures from old trips, always with that hat on and I miss it. This is my final effort to try and find the same hat, obviously not the original. If anyone is out there that might have an old one, I'd give anything for it! AND AFTER A YEAR AND 3 MONTHS I LITERALLY STUMBLED ACROSS IT! I was down in the valley with two friends, both who had received new video equipment for Christmas and we were trying it out. I had found a dead buck with a big rack a couple days earlier when I was down in the valley looking for my hat. I wanted to show them the deer but couldn't find it. I stopped for a second to think about where it might be. I looked down and there was my hat. Craziest part of all, my buddies caught the whole thing on video! I promise this is an entirely true and freakishly crazy story! I'm reunited with my hat and will never lose it again!

When Patagonia reached out via email and twitter to help me find my hat and three days later would surprise me with a new Patagonia hat at my door step.
My current collection, though two are not pictured because friends don't understand what the term "borrow" means. Also not pictured. Pata shoes, fleeces, jackets, shirts, baselayers, beanies, boots, etc. Notice the wear on these gems.
Randomly had to throw this "Worn Wear" in. Got this from a friend who said he got it at a thrift store. An old school denim work jacket. So awesome. I would love to know the story of these threads!
