me trying to figure out if i wanna move this blog again to get my ideas in order and get everything more organized or if i’m just looking for that illusion of a fresh start even tho i don’t actually need one

so i thought a lot about this and realized that the only thing stopping me was being scared you guys would find it annoying (because i haven't had this blog for that long), and i wasn't taking into consideration what i wanted and what makes me comfortable. so i'm doing it

these past few months it was difficult for me to be active on pat for a number of reasons. it was like she was going through this identity crisis of sorts as i kept changing her backstory, changing it back to my original ideas, changing something else, just trying new things in an effort to not lose my muse. kinda got confusing for everyone, myself included. but now i finally feel like i found a version of her that really feels right, and i really do need the fresh start of a new blog bc this one is all over the place. so stay tuned!! i'll be carrying out some of my threads into the new blog once it's done

you are medea from from the argonautica by apollonius and medea by euripides.   you are ambitious, ruthless, and unforgiving in getting what you want,  and unapologetic in your self-preservation.    the truth is,  you have let your romantic ideals get the better of you before,  and time and time again you have had to relearn how to build up those walls and thorns that guard it.   the only person who can protect you is yourself,  and you have learned that the hard way.   sometimes stoking that fire of hate and anger in your heart hurts more than whatever you're fighting against.

THERE WERE TIMES   ━━   before the revolution back at home,   before she’d been pulled from her home and dragged to a war she never asked to be a part of   ━━   when this used to be a lot easier.     when her fingers danced over piano keys gracefully and effortlessly,   and there wasn’t a doubt in her mind that one day she’d be playing and singing for crowds of people.

now,   with years of minimum practice and two fingers missing from her dominant hand,   it’s not as easy,   much less  graceful.     her fingers stumble over the wrong keys at a weird rhythm,   pressing down harder than she’s used to in an attempt to reach the keys with the stumps of the missing fingers.     she’s almost  embarrassed  when she looks up and catches tommy watching her,   giving him a sheepish smile.      ❝    believe it or not,   i used to be really good at this.    ❞      /      @alreadybrcken​  ♡

PAT HEARS IT  when the woman arrives,   when the housekeeper lets her in and walks her through the  massive  house.     yet pat doesn’t move from her spot where she lounges on the couch,   a cigarette dangling lazily from dainty fingers.      ❝     you’re ten minutes late.    ❞      she takes a drag of her cigarette,   eyes not hostile but  distrustful  of the stranger in her home,   as if studying her,   warning her to keep her distance.      ❝    you speak spanish,   gringa?    ❞      /      @crimewrought​​
