just like in awakening, ricken’s a noble but his family has fallen on hard times and struggles from financial issues. 

ricken gets into garreg mach monastery through a scholarship ( or the equivalent of one ) through his good grades and magical prestige. 

the second youngest student attending, next to lythesia. 

as for his house selection house, i could see him being apart of the blue lions or golden deer!

the stray cats and dogs around the monastery like to follow him everywhere, as do many other small animals. 

i would say his stance on the goddess is neutral? not sure if he’s a devote believer, but the religion in general interests him.
