My girlfriend and I got invited to a con this weekend and she wants to dress up but since I’m the one who goes to cons and renfaires she asked me to pick out her outfit. She wants to look pretty and whimsical and loves fairies and mermaids and I’m so delighted to be able to dress her up but there is one problem. I don’t dress femme. And I don’t know how all the hot girls do it! 😭 so please give me your best advice for building this outfit.

I have a general concept for a mermaid cause then I could dress as a pirate. Here’s the base I’m working with built from her closet.

We looked for answers and what did we find? When the world was quieter? Are we getting closer to or further from the truth?

What drove the world to be so loud? So overstimulating? What is the point of all this? Where can we find the answers? How much of it is true? How deep does intelligence go? And what does that even mean?

Can you imagine, early on in human kind. Looking inward and finding something so vast and unfathomable you turn to the stars? The moon? The sun, the planets, so many unanswered questions inside that you turn to the things around you and decipher what answers you may, giving mouth sounds to one the creatures that could hear you until we learned to write, then stories and letters how did we get here? When did it all become so complex? Had is always been so complex, on and on forever

And around us more and more things try to take our attention? For the money? For the power? Did it start out as the simple idea to express ourselves to the brain-baring meat machines around us What explanation is there for that? And biologically we are just mammals?? But one cannot know what a cat thinks or believes. What makes us special?

There is an endless list of possibilities that could be taking place outside of ourselves. We cannot understand anything outside of ourselves… unless we can? And who’s to say? There could be an infinite number of galaxies outside of our own. And we have no solid reason to believe that there isn’t? And religion is the assumption that bigger powers set all the right conditions for our intelligence to reach this point?

We got good enough at living that we got BORED and our brains had to do something so we went in and found what?

Presumably there are other things in these many galaxies that have evolved to this point too? In potentially different ways? No one knows how far time goes out, in either direction, are we the first to turn inward? Are we the last? What is this existence? What makes me different from the mammals around me? Speech? Communication? Our intelligence presumably, but how far does intelligence go? What even is intelligence? The world that we have access to is so small, in the grand scheme of things. A small grain in the sands of time, and what do you think makes us special? And what does that lead to? It leads us to every moment we live. Nothing outside of ourselves is assured. And everyone lives in their own mind and in the grand scheme of things it’s so small and so bizarre and you wonder why we live this way and how we got here? Tv? Phones? Distractions, propaganda, ads, money? It’s such a bizarre existence.Do you ever wonder what deep inside us changed?

What creates the soul?

Hear me out though.

Is it self awareness? Is it consciousness? What is consciousness? What puts us as humans on a different level than the rest of the brain-having skeletal meat machines around us?

I suppose this is where religion comes in. But scientifically have we found anything? Anatomically maybe something makes us different, or is there a point in history…

And then you zoom out. From an outside perspective could you imagine watching this planet? Other beings, which we know exist, studying what makes us different from the mammals around us? Is it consciousness? Is that even a thing? Is it just self-awareness that

I can’t even keep up with my own thoughts. Getting lost in them, sinking further and further back

When did our minds turn inward? How long ago? Is that the piece that makes us different?

WIP piece!

I’ve been getting back into crafting because it has been so good for my mental health and I’m working on some jewelry using some thrifted pieces and bones! This one will be a pendant, once I get it cleaned up. I couldn’t think of a better way to hold it together than super glue (i don’t have wire tools yet because im poor) but that has posed its own problems.
