“Though we see the same world, we see it through different eyes.”

(Cont.) So maybe I don't 100% understand exactly what you're feeling right now, but I can tell you that we all fuck up once in a while. With that said I'm sure you'll take this and learn from it in the future (oh god, I sound like I'm lecturing or preaching to someone right now, apologies)! I hope this didn't sound condescending at all because I didn't intend for it to be like that! But yeah, I hope your future is filled with better days girl :) xx
^ Internal peace comes from knowing internal self and that takes work facing fear dead in the face and saying I'm choosing a different path. I didn't know this was an option, I didn't know how to access something that already existed inside of me. But once I gave into change and faced the fear my life got better, I got better.
“I’m slowly finding the inner parts of myself I adore and clinging to them.”

Whether somebody gives you sympathy or empathy, a diagnosis or medication, it wouldn't make a difference. I'll save you tens of thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours. The truth is no one cares. The earth spins and if your heart is still beating, that's the only thing that matters. You have invested tremendously little in yourself. You're not you own best advocate, friend, advice giver. You're sulked in the ugliest depth of ego. You're afraid of fighting yourself and trying new things.
✨🌱
One day you're going to realize all of this and be like "fuck, I spent so much time being miserable and I wish I'd done this, this, and that." You have been suicidal but you don't want to kill yourself. You're fully aware of the value this life has and you don't want to squander it. I'll cut to the point. The life you're living now and the one that is ideal for you (e.g. safety, sociality, love, etc.) require the same level of work.
👆
Waking up every morning and hating yourself and being miserable takes just as much work as waking up and going for a walk around the neighborhood. Hanging out with the rats you've let between your legs takes just as much emotional labor as it does to find a group of people that support what your after, challenge you, and give you the encouragement to go for more. Last thing. Not giving up is a whole skill. Read that again, it's a skill. You're good at it. Write down what you want and chase it.
👆
Did not imply that you can snap out of it whatsoever. It'll take years of work and investing in yourself. Depression is one of the worst things on earth that a human can be afflicted with. You can either sulk in your misery or use it to get you where you want to be. You want to be a victim. You want to rob yourself of growth. It doesn't make a difference to me. My hope is that in 10 years time you can look at these words through a different lens. I wish you the best, I mean it.
What a blessing, why Tumblr was a safe haven for my soul when the rest of the world didn’t understand me.
I do the work now.
Facing my shadow gave my life true meaning and saved me from the illusion I was desperately trying to convince myself was my home.

“The German word for “meaning” is derived from the German word for “pointing.” When Augustine talks about the learning of language he talks about how we attach names to things, or understand the names of things. Naming here appears as the foundation, the be all and end all of language.”
— Ludwig Wittgenstein, Philosophical Grammar
