New bouquet is up at Paulie's and it is bananas! B.a.n.a.n.a.s. It's also roses, hydrangeas, rain tree... #patiovore #bouquet (at Paulie's Restaurant)
The ol' haunt. The playground. The secondhand supply store. Can't stay away from this place, its incredible deals on building materials, and the opportunity to support a secondary market of perfectly good stuff. #reuse #yeahhhh (at Habitat For Humanity Restore)
Planter boxes built for this swanky bar!! Two more on the way. The real rock stars are the employees behind the camera, but I think they snapped a good one :) (at The Flat)
I think we're gonna be here a while! #patiovore #landscaping #bigfun @Brik @Raul @Vanessa @Josh
Wow. I feel like it's almost sacrilegious to try to fit so many pieces into one image, I really recommend visiting the Station Museum on Alabama to see the color and scale of these works from some of the most talented artists in Houston. Volunteering for the Houston Peace and Justice Center's Annual Fundraising Banquet at the Station Museum. Hello, special guests Dennis and Elizabeth Kucinich. (at The Station Museum of Contemporary Art)
This little ditty got done today. A few guys started this garden behind their apartment, got super busy with work and the weeds took over (ah, summer weeds). With a few hours I hit the refresh button and, blammo! Any bigger of a garden and I certainly would've needed an extra hand. At least one of these tenants is a chef, so I think they'll enjoy the herbs, greens, root veggies, baby veggies, etc etc! to come. #patiovore #yay
I got a business degree; this is more fun. #building 4x3x3 #planters out of mostly #reclaimed wood, for ornamentals. #####
@chadiskimball do you see this? Do you agree that my prickly pear has grown quite a bit? I had to pull it out from under this crazy passionate passion vine, and I could swear that's a new appendage up top. #cactus
You know what my #Halloween costume would be if only I didn't have to PLAY DEAD to keep it on my body?! #thatssovegan
This is all my fault. I did a shitload of rain dances back in 2010 when I had poor cellular reception and now that I have better service it's come all at once. Thanks Verizon. #houston #flooding #studewood #bayou #ohthehorror #happyholloween (at Stude Park)
To the coworker that gifted me and all of our other coworkers these s-biners for Christmas a few years ago... endless thank you's. It's held my keys together beautifully and has opened the occasional beer, too. I love stuff that just works for years on end. The Nite-Ize "Ahhh" #sbiner #notforclimbing (so it says) #giftideas
The happiest little citrus I've ever planted in a planter/divider I built with reclaimed pallets over the summer. It's a young tree (dwarf mandarin, I was told), so no fruit now. Vines are planted behind to wrap around the side walls. In the spring, the both tree and vines will have little white star-shaped blooms. #citrus #pallet (at Camerata at Paulie's)
My ligularias, making the most of preexisting beds and loving life in nearly full shade. 3 to 6 (?) months old at this point... #ligularia #landscaping
The pirate that jacked my heart sometime back in '06...
One of my favorite kinds of shopping. Seeing the sights at Treesearch in advance of a huge landscaping project. I want a beautiful composition that's also as sustainable as it gets, mostly natives and edibles, and low*est maintenance. All without simply limiting myself to citrus and rosemary. Llllllllet's go!
Today! Seven years of breastfeeding and still going strong! Haha. Just kidding. Happy Birthday, you beautiful smarty pants.
