1 Day Left Hardware Store- My main stop for all my hardware needs. Loved that their was still a “mom and pop” shop in the neighborhood where as silly as it might sound… Everyone knew your name. I went it to do my last shopping for the building, so the next super will have enough supplies on hand. I didn’t want to say goodbye. I just wanted to walk in a do my normal shopping, laugh at the usual jokes or maybe the super with the guitar comes in today. He always has a guitar strapped on playing tunes while shopping. But they saw me take the photo. So I had to explain that this was my last shopping at the store. Thank you for the memories and the laughs and putting up with my OCD list that I always came in with. ------------- I am starting a new project on the idea that it will help me be deal with the “big move". I've lived in one place for 35 years and in 2 weeks, for the first time, I will have a new zip code. It’s exciting, but terrifying at the same time. 1 Day Left. The Boiler Room- This has been my biggest enemy as a super at this building. My winters have been mentally revolving around this machine. Making sure it runs and if it shuts down for any reason I would have to fix it. Spent many hours late at night hunched over the burner cleaning the filters. Oil and kerosene all over my hands that I’m sure gave some skin damage from it over the years. ------------- I am starting a new project on the idea that it will help me be deal with the “big move". 2 Days Left The Back Yard. This is where most of birthdays happened. I was glad to have a small space outside that we could play. I put a lot of use of this space as a kid but not so much as an adult as it has been over run by stray cats. ------------- I am starting a new project on the idea that it will help me be deal with the “big move". 3 Days Left. My first office. I was lucky enough to live in a large space growing up. We had a whole building basement to ourselves. I spent hours upon hours in this room when I was young, at the time it had a drawing desk and I would spend hours in their drawing and creating comic books along with my friend Ralph. The ceiling had fallen in recent years due to leaks from tenant’s above. ------------- I am starting a new project on the idea that it will help me be deal with the “big move". 3 Days Left. Things you find while moving. Wore this for Halloween one year…..ok maybe like 2 years in a row. When I found it I remembered the last time I wore it, my Mom was around. She was sick at this point with cancer but she rushed down from her apartment upstairs so she can take pictures and make sure I ate before I went to the parade in the city. Im sure my friend would remember her trying to shove down a turkey burger down his throat. She wouldn’t take no for an answer when It came to food. ---------- My Last 2 Weeks I am starting a new project on the idea that it will help me be deal with the “big move". 3 Days Left. The “hood”. Castle Hill Ave on the horizon and Holy Family School & Church is to your right where I spent 9 years of my life. I was only 10 minutes away walking, and I was still late. The first person I would see would be Mrs.Buhler sitting at the desk by the door. My lateness got so bad that she just gave me the late pad one day and said fill it out yourself for the week. ---------- My Last 2 Weeks I am starting a new project on the idea that it will help me be deal with the “big move". 4 Days Left. Sweeping the front of the building has always been a losing battle. A battle against the wind blowing in garbage to the people who live around and think its ok just to drop their garbage where ever they are. When I was a kid I was riding my bike in front of the building, a man walked up to me in this alleyway and pointed a gun through his shirt and took my bike. ---------- My Last 2 Weeks I am starting a new project on the idea that it will help me be deal with the “big move". 5 Days Left. My office is now empty. Growing up this the room I shared with my brother, then became his room, a living room at one point and back to my room.
