I started playing Last Epoch recently and was charmed by the graphics. Vfx in game are awesome, and there is so many of those.
This inspired me to do something similar, test myself, finally try myself in the fantasy art style and craft a couple of fanarts. Of course, I could not pass by the first mini boss and his fire spells ( on video below )
Yeap, i've created new character just to record this xD
I've already recorded lots of references for other effects.
By the way, Embergen turned out to be very useful in creating fire sprites. You can achieve the necessary detail level in just an hour or two, and as a bonus there is an infinite number of variations. For this vfx didn't want to create whole effect with flipbook sequences, so used 4 flame spites, animated by displace texture.
I've quickly made shaders in shadergraph, nothing special here, dissolve and displace.
Made some reposts of the same explosion video in bsk and twitter... Awww... Tumblr is so good!
This vfx doesn't actually goes to the game, enemy switched from genades... But i like this visuals.

Forgot about this place. I can share any artworks here, for a game projects with a bit of delay or without any real in-game assets. But i also have personal vfx's and some unclamed stuff.

Hi! New lightning vfx is out! Frame by frame with some post processing and some color variation.
I love animation in all its forms! It’s so nice to make frame by frame vfx! I guess, i’ll make some more in the near future.

A few things
Hey! I have a new frame by frame animation here! Now it’s colored. I continue to learning full pipeline in different software. And it takes a lot of time to make right clear lines for filling with colors... hm...
Walk cycle animation. Some ik on legs, some weight maps correction... Not a big deal. And slightly different background color xD
It turns out that you need to be able to draw to make the frame-by-frame animation. Funny thing. Little by little I'm learning basic skills. Thanks to Xabio Arts, Jazza and others youtubers!
