Two field guides of plants in Cotes Ward... A foraging guide for plants and fungi endemic to Radial Island... A book of old sewing patterns... A medical textbook focused on the workings of the brain... And a visual novel following two men learning how to, er, get along with each other in... peculiar circumstances. For good measure.
Yes, this looks like everything.
They give a couple nods, pretending that she hadn't seen the bottom one. Somehow. Even though she was the one holding it. And the one who had found it for them.
"YES, THESE APPEAR CORRECT. YOU HAVE BEEN HELPFUL."
What could she be thinking? They hadn't been planning on a face-to-face interaction when they placed that... unfortunate reserve. What had they been thinking??
Yuri smiles nervously, her gaze constantly gravitating to the visual novel despite her polite attempts not to. It reminded her of the manga Natsuki liked, but she had never seen one so... charged.
The fact it stood out so starkly against the rest of the stack did not help matters at all.
"O-oh good, thank you! I'm glad. I was worried I might have, um, made a mistake." Her eyes once again drifted to the last book in the stack, before forcing them back to her patron.
"OH! Right, here." She awkwardly offers the stack to them. Smooth.
"Yeah I can't even imagine in your shoes. It's one thing to be here since your first time but coming back? Especially with more people then you remember? I don't even know how I'd react."
Probably awfully. But that was a thought for Mika if it occurred one day. And not one she wanted to happen in the first place either...
"Ah nothing yet no. I might try and take a few friends around if there's a festival but beyond that just going about my days as usual. Unless someone invites me to come along that is." Which is what Mika seemed to guess Yuri wanted. Or something else entirely.
"Would you wanna hang out more when those months roll around? We could organize a beach day or something close to try and really enjoy ourselves."
"It was... Disturbing. Mostly, it was reckoning with the passage of time. For me, I was gone mere hours, but to come back and find out several years had passed? My imagination got the better of me from there... Is it possible to be dragged back decades later? What a horrifying precedent."
She shutters, resting her cup on the table. Definitely a darker topic than she wanted for her tea party. Instead, Yuri gives Mika every ounce of her focus. Mentally shunning the hypothetical in her mind.
"I would love to, certainly, if you'd have me. I had never had a beach day with friends before... I think it sounds fun."
Yuri nods in agreement. Life always had that pesky habit of getting in the way, especially in such an excitable city like Spirale. She was already busy at work with the kettle, brewing the tea with her usual carefulness. "Okay. Don't be afraid to ask for sugar if it's too bitter, I won't be offended. I decided on a traditional Earl Grey. I also have some scones in the kitchen if you'd like."
She sets two steaming cups on the table and sits down.
"How are you?"
"How have I been?" The question wasn't too surprising yet she took a moment to stare down at her tea before giving a complete answer.
"I suppose alright. If you asked me the same question about three years ago I probably would've freaked out that this whole thing was still happening. As time went on I guess I got used to it all. Not that I don't want to go home but..." She'd miss everything she made here. Yet her home still managed to pull her, a reminder of the friends and people she left there to.
"And you? We thankfully haven't had anything too awful lately but you've been treating yourself well right Yuri?"
Yuri nods slowly, sipping her tea ruefully. It put to words exactly her own thoughts, and no doubt the thoughts of most of the city's denizens.
"It was disturbing to learn this whole, experimental city, or what have you, has continued on for so many years since my last visit... I suppose adapting is the only thing someone can do in this situation. Focusing on what could or should be only causes misery."
She missed her friends at the literature club dearly, but would it be fair to want them here? It is selfish to want both worlds to be one. She meditates on her answer.
"I've been fine, yes. Honestly, I can't really complain. Work has been quiet, and I've enjoyed the new encounters I've had recently. I guess I've been adapting well to the city's version of normal."
"Do you have any plans for the summer? I never take advantage of the weather as much as I should."
@witchoftrinity
"Thank you for coming. It feels like we haven't had much chance to hang out since, well... Since everything kept happening."
" How do you take your tea?"
"Ehehe yeah. Even when you think you have some free time on your hands something else manages to show up and ruin all your plans." Still at least now the two of them had some peace. For however long it'd last...
"Whatever you make I'll be happy with Yuri! Nagi always tried to get me into different flavors and such but really I'll take anything."

@pavlovianpoet liked for a starter
It had been a long while since Soma visited Savior's Respite. He went over to the edge to admire the scenery and touching the few flowers that blossomed still.
"Can't wait for spring to come back again. I miss seeing all the flowers blooming around."
"I can't either. That period of desolation between winter and spring is a bit depressing, isn't it?" Yuri replies from her seat, a book and small tote by her side.
It felt like spring, but it sure didn't look like it. She looked up at the horizon.
"I heard it's going to rain later. Hopefully, that will help with some growth.
"I'd like them to stop as well. But something tells me that's not high on their priority list..." However unlike plenty other times it being a "gut feeling" this one just seemed likely. Everyone here had been here for so long and the more she looked into it the more the servant realized the ways of actually returning home were minuscule if anything at all.
Frustrating might have been the better word to describe her feelings.
"And if complaining could get us our way I feel this city wouldn't have a population to begin with." The servant said, adding onto the already lame chuckle with one of her own, as if she expected the joke to already fail before it even reached her ears.
"Still I should be telling you that. It's my job to help people like you out. So if you have any issues or more of those unsavory individuals in your life you are more then welcome to contact me. I'll be more then happy to ensure nothing gets in your way again."
"That's right..." Yuri nods sullenly, a wry smile on her lips. It might as well be the same as wishing for a hundred million dollars. Frustrating beyond all measures. In fact, considering the regular 'disasters' that befall them, frustration was an understatement.
She sighs. Not worth ruminating on it.
"Well, H-hopefully it doesn't come to that. Thank you, I'll give you a call if I ever need help. Good luck with your reading, I'll be over here if you need me." With a tiny nod, she starts to walk away.
