I know some of y’all may not know this man, but I’m going to do my best to share my case as to why YOU should vote Trevor Hills!
Trevor Hills is the main character of the story-based puzzle game: American Arcadia.
The world of American Arcadia is essentially: The Truman Show, except it’s the fully realized version of Walt Disney’s EpcotÂ
A whole town fully of people whose lives are (unbeknownst to them) being live streamed for the entertainment of the world outside.
Trevor Hills was born in this town and has lived his entire, simple life in it. Never aiming too high, never trying to stand out from the crowd, never feeling the need to have to prove himself or his worth to anyone else.
And for that he is going to die.
Trevor Hill is (statistically speaking) the MOST boring person in his town. His livestream is watching by a whopping ONE person, and it’s only because she’s paid to do it. The show has been on decline for years, and as he is not making them any money the show runners have chosen to remove him from the cast.
The game is about his escape from Arcadia with the help of a cast member (the same one who was watching him) but in a larger sense it is about the value of the average manÂ
What is the average person worth and what do they owe to the worldÂ
Trevor is not a blank slate. He is a nerd, he has a pet turtle who he regularly chats with, he is a talented pianist and likes to write his own songs (though he’d never say it out loud), he says he’s too old for video games and yet has been guarding his high score on a public Arcade Game for years-
He is, like the average man, unique in a thousand different ways.
Because the average person is exceptionalÂ
The average person is strange
The average person improves the lives of everyone they meet, whether they meet once or for a lifetimeÂ
And the average person should not have to justify their right to existence to anyoneÂ
