5. Liam Payne - Debut Solo Album [TBC]

Liam’s the latest One D star to announce his solo plans. In late 2016 he signed to the same record label as Drake and Ariana Grande. While we’re yet to hear his official solo material, there have been some leaked clips floating around on Twitter. We’re not 100% sure what his musical style will be, but expect a touch of his “DJ Payno” days to be an influence. One Direction's Liam Payne is working on solo music again - and he's bringing fans along for the ride

Liam Payne definitely knows how to whip One Direction fans into a frenzy.

The 23-year-old had Directioners celebrating and panicking when he recently announced his solo deal - and then turned them on with a sexy new demo track.

Now, Liam has shared pictures on Instagram of his latest recording session with some heavy-hitters in the music biz:

Working with him in the studio were Austin Mahone producer Oakestra and Chris Brown hitmaker Zaire Koalo, so he’s not messing around at all.

In addition to his studio time with those gents, he recently had a mini-One Direction reunion with his BFF Louis Tomlinson to write a new song heavily rumoured to feature on Liam’s upcoming debut solo album.

All of this activity flies in the face of former 1D guru Simon Cowell, who has publicly complained about Liam signing a solo recording deal without consulting him.

“It is a bit annoying if I am honest with you - mainly because it is another label who has now got your artist who you worked with for so many years,” Cowell vented over the summer. “But that is the music business, unfortunately.”

Cowell’s X Factor cohort Louis Walsh showed a bit more faith in Liam’s solo prospects in a recent interview with Digital Spy.

“Liam might surprise us with songs because I think he is quite a good songwriter,” Louis predicted.

As for whether Liam will be welcoming a baby with girlfriend Cheryl anytime soon, the jury is definitely still out.

First and for most, you know you follow the right people when your entire dash is praising Liam and defending him against mean anons! Thank you all for that and I love you so much 💕

Second, please be respectful towards Liam… I don’t care who you are, I’ll block you and unfollow you with you are mean towards my son. He has been bullied before, especially in this fandom and I won’t stand for it! Not even for a second.

Third, I know you all are entitled to your opinion and not liking the song is a possibility for a lot of you… But once again don’t be mean towards him! Be excited and proud for him. Especially wait for the whole song to come out to judge what you really think of it. Hell, wait for the whole album!

And finally, THE SONG IS FUCKING LIT! It was exactly what I was expecting from him and so in sync with his personal favourite music genres. As with Niall’s “This Town” and with Zayn’s whole album, it was according to their personal likings. I’m literally living for it and I want to hear it all! My final question is just: WHEN THE FUCK ARE YOU COLLABORATING WITH DRAKE, LEYUM?!
