WORD COUNT: approx. 3000
Sam and Dean sat at the table in the back of the bar, both of them talking quietly. This last hunt was a doozy; it had really knocked them for a six. Dean watched curious as a rather gorgeous woman approached the two of them, she looked familiar but he couldn’t pinpoint it. He looked her over, tight jeans that hugged her legs and arse, flat stomach a low cut button up tank, her brown hair in loose curls falling over her shoulders and resting on her breasts, her eyes crystal blue, he had no other way to describe them. They were such a light shade of blue, maybe with a hint of green. It was like staring into the ocean in some parts of the world. Her eyes captivated him, he struggled to pull his gaze away from them long enough to pay attention to the words that came out of her mouth. ‘Hi, I am so sorry to bother you both. I was just wondering if you are Sam and Dean?’ Her voice was accented slightly, but Dean still couldn’t pin point it. He couldn’t make out who she was or where she was from. ‘Who’s asking?’ ‘A friend of a friend,’ she smiled, her smile was innocent and as captivating as her eyes. It was so girl next door, and yet under it there was a toughness that only a few knew of. ‘And who might that be?’ Dean asked. He watched as she ordered some drinks and slid into the booth with them. ‘What if we aren’t who you’re looking for Sweetheart,’ Dean smirked. ‘I have a feeling you are.’ Dean watched as she took a drink of her cider, the way her lips touched the bottle. He shifted uncomfortably. She was absolutely intoxicating. Damn he needed to get laid and soon. ‘What can we do for you?’ Sam asked her smiling. ‘I’m trying to find my sister and her last known contact was with you two. She told me that you could help her with her…’ Dean watched as she pulled a face and tried to find the right words, before stopping as a couple walked past. Ok, she was aware of the supernatural. He couldn’t decide if this was good or bad. ‘Predicament,’ she explained finally. ‘Who’s your sister?’ ‘Bela Talbot.’ Y/N watched as Dean spat his whisky over the table. ‘Attractive,’ she sighed. ‘Bela’s your sister?’ Dean coughed. ‘I thought she didn’t have family?’ Sam asked. ‘It’s a long story. But yes I am her sister, and I haven’t heard from her in a week and that’s not normal. Her deal was due to be closed but she said you two would be able to help her. So I thought that maybe…you knew where she was?’ The two men looked at her, there was tears glistening in her eyes. Now that they knew who she was it was obvious, she was just like her sister, just as elegant, just as hot. The difference she was softer spoken, her accent not as thick and it was obvious she was not as confident as her big sister. ‘Have you heard from her?’ The two men looked at each other and Sam cleared his throat. ‘No, sorry Sweetheart. Last time we heard from her was a couple of weeks ago and she was fine then,’ Dean told her. The boys watched as her face fell, the tears in her eyes threatening to spill over as she looked to the ceiling and took a few deep breaths. ‘So what’s your name?’ ‘Y/N. I am sorry I bothered you, really I am.’ Dean watched as she got up and left the table and headed outside. ‘Dean,’ Sam told him quietly. They both knew what happened to Bela. She screwed them over one too many times and they wiped their hands of her. ‘I know Sammy. We screwed up,’ Dean sighed. He got up and chased Y/N down into the carpark. ‘Y/N,’ he called approaching her, eyeing off her car, a black new model Dodge Challenger. While it wasn’t old school it was a thing of absolute beauty. ‘Do you have a number we can contact you on? In case we hear from her?’ Dean asked. He felt guilty keeping things from her and lying to her, but there was no way he could tell her the truth. Y/N nodded and leant into the car to find a business card. Dean used this moment to check out her arse, God it was just wow. ‘Here,’ she told him quietly. ‘Y/N Talbot, Antiquities and Rare Acquisitions,’ he read. ‘So what, screwing people over is the family business?’ He watched as a small smile appeared on her face, she had her sister’s smile. ‘I find it surprising how much hate you have for my sister, especially when she only speaks highly of you,’ she frowned. ‘We have our differences. I think you sister has a lot of potential if she used it for the right reasons.’ He watched as she bit her lip to stop from smiling. ‘I can’t argue that. Bela and I are in the “Family Business,” as you put it. But we have a difference of opinion on it Mr Winchester. I acquired the artefacts the same way but to destroy or hide them. Some of these should never see the light of day. My sister is more concerned about the bottom line.’ ‘Yeah that sounds like Bela,’ he chuckled. ‘So what, you are a hunter’s friend? Find the bad stuff and get rid of it?’ ‘Basically. I want to rid the world of evil not encourage it.’ ‘Your sister?’ ‘Wanted the best for me, and didn’t always go about it in the best manner. But name a sibling that does. Everyone makes mistakes all with good intentions.’ Dean frowned at her, something about her tone made him want to ask her to explain it, but the look on her face told him to shut up. ‘If you hear from her, please let me know.’ Dean nodded as he watched the woman climb into the car and drive off into the night. ‘What do we do?’ Sam asked quietly coming up behind him. ‘I have no idea,’ Dean sighed.
Over the next couple of weeks, the two men thought about Y/N on and off, they googled her, did everything they could to find more information but she didn’t exist. She was nothing more than a ghost. But then so was Bela when they looked.
Sam went off for a run and Dean sat in the motel room looking at the business card in his hand. Eventually it got the better of him and he dialled her number. ‘Hello?’ ‘Y/N?’ ‘Yes?’ ‘Dean Winchester, I thought I’d call and see if you’d heard from Bela.’ ‘Right. Hi. No, I haven’t.’ Dean heard her voice shake some and felt terrible. ‘Have you heard anything at all?’ ‘No sorry,’ he told her, feeling guilty again for lying. ‘I’m not liking my chances of finding her alive,’ Y/N told him quietly. She felt stupid confiding in a stranger but it was something she needed to admit out loud, something she knew was the truth and something that she needed confirmed and who better than a hunter, one with such a solid reputation. One her sister said she could trust. ‘Neither am I. I’m sorry Y/N,’ Dean told her quietly. He heard her sigh shakily, and could picture her blue eyes looking to the ceiling, closing as she tried to stop the tears. ‘So what are you going to do now?’ Dean asked her. ‘Ah I have talisman I am searching for, so I will focus on that I guess.’ ‘Need help at all? Company? I know it can’t be easy and Sam and I have nothing on?’ Dean offered, it seemed the least they could do. ‘Maybe, I don’t know. I’m not the best company right now.’ ‘Meh, we are just as crappy to be around so it will work out fine.’ He heard her chuckle and smiled as she agreed. She gave them her hotel room details and told them to come on over whenever.
The boys rocked up a few hours later and were impressed. The hotel she was staying in was rather posh and extravagant, silk sheets, several bedrooms, spa, double showerheads, the works. Dean took in her appearance, her outfit once again showing off all her features. She had a tight black skirt that came ¾ the way down her thighs with a split up the front, a black fitted blazer that was buttoned up, with what appeared to be no shirt underneath, a nice amount of her breasts was showing. Enough that it was sexy as hell without being too slutty and black strappy heels. Her hair once again Talbot trademarked, curled and flowing loose. Y/N caught Dean staring and looked at him curiously. She couldn’t make out the look on his face, whether he was disgusted by her or pleased to see her. She knew her sister liked him, but she got the feeling it wasn’t returned. She considered cutting all ties with the two men, but to be honest their help in obtaining some artefacts would be invaluable and it also saved her having to wait for the bruises to heal. That was yet another difference between her and her sister. While Bela was a master thief and con artist, Y/N was better at the fight and survive stuff. She did the physical side of things and the computer work. Bela did the sweet talking and slight of hand thing. Y/N felt Dean’s eyes on her still and started feeling self-conscious. She was wishing she had of stuck to the jeans and a tank top. She was a more laid back, relaxed style of clothing person, her sister the opposite. But Bela had worked hard at establishing a reputation and image for the “family business” and she swore to uphold it. She ran her fingers through her hair, shifting it off her face. Dean struggled to take his eyes off her. ‘So what are you looking for?’ Sam asked, embarrassed about his brother’s behaviour. ‘The 5th pentacle of Mars.’ The boys looked at her blank. ‘Not much of hunters are you?’ she smirked. ‘What is it?’ Dean grumbled. ‘Its one of the sigils of Solomon, basically it causes demons to obey the wishes of the possessor.’ ‘So it can control them?’ ‘Something like that, now most people can have this kind of control, well a small amount by performing a ritual and creating their own talisman. So in that aspect it’s not like finding it will stop anything. However, Solomon himself forged the one I’m after out of iron whilst he was wearing that pretty little ring the angels gave him. It’s incredibly powerful and dangerous in the wrong hands.’ ‘How dangerous exactly?’ Sam asked. ‘Given the right person, the right wishes and desires, Apocalyptic.’ The two men looked at her. This wasn’t good they agreed it needed to be found and destroyed. ‘Your plans?’ Dean asked. ‘Get the talisman, destroy the thing and then enjoy a nice hot shower.’ ‘Your sister’s plans that we normally get suckered into tend to go along these lines. Get the talisman, say you will destroy it, screw us over, leave town and get rich.’ ‘I’m not my sister and I am happy to do this your way if you want me to prove it to you,’ she offered. The boys agreed and went through the paperwork.
True to her word Y/N didn’t screw them over. The trio worked well together and Dean noticed by the time they located and were working on obtaining the talisman Y/N was looking to locate another. She was a workaholic, she showed the boys the list of things she had destroyed to date and they were impressed, especially given what some of them could do. She was as she described a do-good version of Bela.
Over the next seven months the trio worked together on and off, becoming good friends. Dean and Y/N especially, he found himself texting her to see how she was, or asking how a job went. Y/N and Sam exchanged emails over items, and became close friends. The boys knew she could hunt and that she enjoyed it so when they were together she would often tag along with them on a hunt.
Dean rang her one evening and organised to meet a bar near a job, He watched as she entered the room. She was wearing cut offs, a white low cut loose shirt, that once again showed her cleavage and under it was a deep burgundy lacy bra that showed through. She had on a necklace that hung down and rested between her breasts. God what he wouldn’t give to trace that with his fingers. A million thoughts ran through his mind, he ended up having to shift to try and get comfortable. Sam snorted as he realised Dean was once again distracted by her. ‘When exactly are you going to tell her?’ ‘Tell her what?’ ‘That you like her, want to jump her, would love a friends with benefits type deal, if not more?’ ‘I’m not.’ Sam raised an eyebrow. ‘Well, Maybe…if she shows an interest. I don’t want to ruin a beautiful friendship. ‘And loose out on the perve sessions,’ Sam corrected. ‘That too, I mean crap Sammy look at her.’ Sam grinned; he didn’t need to say anything. He had looked. A lot. But he wasn’t interested in her in the way Dean was. But he did appreciate a gorgeous woman when he saw one. Dean watched as she went to the bar and ordered, before heading over to join the two of them. She put down the drinks and Sam stood up and gave her a hug. Dean followed and pulled her in tight, breathing in her strawberry shampoo and jasmine and vanilla body wash. Y/N closed her eyes briefly as Dean hugged her. She could smell his leather and whisky scent. Their hugged lingered longer than it should have. ‘Long time no see,’ she smiled at them, sliding in next to Dean. The trio drank and chatted for a while, before Sam excused himself to head back to the motel. He was hoping that Dean would finely have the courage to talk to her, to tell her how he felt. Dean and Y/N chatted for a while longer. The conversation flowed easily. They two stayed at the bar for another couple of hours before Y/N decided to call it a night. ‘Really? You can’t stay a bit longer?’ Dean sulked. ‘Sorry Winchester, but I need my beauty sleep.’ ‘I doubt it will do much,’ Dean commented, once again looking her over. God she was hot there was no way anything could improve what he was seeing right now. You can’t improve a Goddess. He looked at her face and saw the horrified look and realised that his words came out wrong. That she had taken it the wrong way. Y/N knew she wasn’t gorgeous, she also knew that Dean wasn’t interested in her like she was him. But for him to say that just gutted her. She didn’t think she was that bad. ‘Crap, no I didn’t mean that. I meant it’s hard to improve what’s already perfect,’ he said quickly. Y/N nodded and stood up. ‘Well it was good to catch up,’ she told him. Her voice was unusually quiet. She gave him a small smile and headed off towards the door. Dean could have kicked himself. He jumped up and chased her down into the car park, and caught her before she got into her challenger. ‘I’m serious. You are hot as hell, no amount of sleep can improve that. There is nothing to improve.’ He looked at her, she hesitated unsure of what to make of what he said. ‘You’re the whole package Y/N, and I have wanted nothing more than to rip your clothes off and take you then and there since we met,’ Dean told her moving closer. He watched as her eyes lit up slightly, and she bit her lip. He put his hands on her hips and lent down and kissed her. He gently rubbed his thumb along her skin and felt her shift slightly and trying not to laugh. ‘You’re ticklish?’ he asked with and evil, cheeky grin. ‘No,’ she told him quietly, her face going bright red. ‘Sure,’ he laughed. Wriggling his fingers along her side watching as she squirmed. ‘I can’t say I expected that,’ he smirked. ‘There’s a lot about me that’s unexpected,’ she grinned. ‘Can’t wait to find out,’ he mumbled into her lips. He pulled her in closer, careful not to tickle her.
The two ended up back at Y/N’s hotel room. The night was better than he ever dreamed of. She was better than he ever dreamed of. The softness of her skin under his fingers, the smell of her body wash as he pushed up against her, the taste of her lips. Everything was pure perfection. He spent the night in silk sheets, not something he was used to. Waking the next morning he was in heaven to find he was still tangled up with her body.
A few days later, Y/N moved on she had a job to do 10 hours away. Sam and Dean a hunt seven hours in the opposite direction. ‘I’ll talk to you tonight,’ Dean told her as he kissed her goodbye. ‘I hope so,’ she grinned. He kissed her goodbye and watched as she drove off towards her job, Dean instantly regretting not going with her.
Over the next few months their relationship grew, as much as it can when you are leading two different lives on two different sides of the country. But they caught up when they could. Dean asked her several times about her past, her life growing up but it was a no go topic.
