It's set in the future, after a world war III, with mechs powered by human blood!!

Dragoons and Talus in FFOH

In the world of FFOH, there are two common names for Mechs, so here's some keywords:

- MHC: Mechanized Humanoid Chassis, An umbrella term for all Mechs, There do exist MHC that are not humanoid.

- Talos: A Talos is the term for a MHC that is powered by typical power, such as a auxiliary cable connected to a power grid, or a onboard generator. They were first used by the Russian army in 2127.

- Dragoon: Dragoon is the term used for a MHC that is powered by a engine made from Ipsum.

Talus:

There are really two types of Talus, The modern kind, about 5 meters tall and used in construction, hauling and other blue collar jobs, and the kind used by the Russian army, 15 meters tall with armor thicker than a tank, requiring 2 people to properly man it.

Dragoon:

Dragoons were originally used as skirmishers, 7 meters tall, and at full thrust, as fast as a jet, capable of predicting and dodging active fire from a talus. Equipped with Hypersharp weaponry, they focused on moving faster than bullets and instead being the projectile themself.

After the war, most Dragoon's cockpits were scrapped for Ipsum, With modern Dragoons Using a Ipsum-Iron Alloy, Providing less power in exchange for being cheaper, which was quite needed as Dragoons slowly stopped being weapons of war, and instead becoming sports equipment!

MHC Dueling:

MHC Dueling is one of the many forms of MHC-Driven sports, with two MHCs sparring with nonlethal weaponry, Ending when one MHC has its decorative head cut off, or the chest getting hit by an attack 3 times.

Piloting a Dragoon:

The cockpit inside of a Dragoon Consists of 2 unique components:

- The Ipsum chamber, a cylinder of Ipsum fully encasing the cockpit

- Needles and tubes connected to the pilot, allowing the pilot to feed their blood directly into the Ipsum chamber, Giving the Dragoon a controlled power boost, With it expelling excess heat through vents in the head's decorative mouth.

2095: An inner conflict begins in the United States

2096: The US states of Ohio, Florida, New York and Kentucky are hit with 23 nuclear warheads

2096, October: The United States of America are renamed to The United American Nation after the state of California takes full governmental control over the country

2096, December: The Anti-Nuclear Treaty is signed, With many world leaders agreeing or being blackmailed into agreeing, Causing the deconstruction of 99% of the world's nuclear bombs.

2120: The President of Russia is pronounced dead, officially reported of dying from a heart attack.

2121, May: The new President of Russia is appointed.

2121, August: The Russian military attacks and takes control of approximately 500 oil rigs from The United American Nation, Europe, Korea and China

2127, December: The first recorded use of the Russian military using a Mechanized Humanoid Chassis, MHC for short, Is documented.

2128, January: The Russian military deploys their MHC in a military campaign to take over neighboring countries, Starting with Belarus.

2130, October: The United American Nation discovers an underground settlement dating back to 65000 BCE, With 5 tablets written in a language that could not be translated by any means at the time, The tablets were constructed out of a metallic material that did not match any known metal, Which they named "Ipsum".

2131: Russia now occupies 80% of European countries.

2131, April: The United American Nation has a breakthrough in technology after it is discovered that Ipsum produces pure energy when in contact with human blood

2132, January: The United American Nation deploys a new type of MHC, powered by chambers of Ipsum metal with fuel made of a mixture of 78% human blood, 20% pig blood and 2 preservatives.

2132, April: The russian army retreats and focuses their military efforts on protecting Leningrad and Moscow

2132, October: The war halts to a standstill, with the American Nation unable to breach the Russian army's defenses.

2132, December: The American Nation military begins construction of a top secret Superweapon in orbit of the moon, named the "Monolith Laser" 2134: During the construction of the Monolith Laser, A large vein of Ipsum is discovered on the surface of the moon.

2135, December: The Construction of the Monolith Laser is complete, Shortly after which, The President of Russia and the entire building he is in is eviscerated by a High powered laser.

2135, December: The Monolith Laser is used to destroy 5 Russian cities containing military personnel and equipment, With a predicted 500k civilian casualty.

2135, December: The Monolith Laser's onboard AI system Mutates, and gains a consciousness. Followed immediately after is the Laser killing 500 of the most influential people in the UAN military and government, with a reported 0 civilian casualties.

2136, January: Following the deaths of the American Government, A New country named "Novum" forms, Filling the power vacuum and taking control of 75% of the landmass that was previously controlled by the UAN, With the other 25% of the landmass being controlled by assorted native American tribes, Mexico and Canada

2179: Current day
