Amelie’s hatred for Gabriel (analysis)

Everyone is hyped at Heartfixer, but I’m Still At The Restaurant (Lady Chaos), so bear with me here:

We know Amelie has absolutely despised Gabriel from the beginning but there was no reason to hate him that much.

So let’s go back to Representation, and, surprise, her behavior stems from abuse.

Emilie was rebellious and free-spirited, while Amelie was quiet and obedient.

Emilie left her sister England, while Amelie bore their parents’ expectations alone.

Emilie was free to marry the love of her life, while Amelie was forced to marry a war tycoon.

Emilie tried to conceive a child out of love, while Amelie tried to conceive one out of obligation.

Emilie had a loving and devoted husband, while Amelie was powerless against an abusive one.

Amelie doesn’t hate Gabriel for being Gabriel but for the fact that he’s the reason her sister abandoned her. That she watched herself go down the same path her mother did — abuse, lies, loneliness.

Then her sister was dead, Gabriel a supervillain, Nathalie his shadow.

She suddenly had no one left but the son Gabriel threatened to erase. Which brings us to the point where she finally confronted him with all the pain he's caused her. Because to her, Gabriel Agreste is the ultimate villain for stealing Emilie in the first place.

Hot take marinette made the better call not telling Gabriel is hawkmoth.

If she told the world:

Kagami and Adrien would of lost all parental figures with who knows what happening to kagami and Adrien probably living with his likely abusive grandfather

Adrien would lose his entire support system with Nathalie gone and would probably have to move pushing him away from marinette

Adrien who in s6 is sick of his popularity would probably of been attacked and antagonized for being the son of hawkmoth and even if he wasn’t he would still be in the spotlight because of his connection.

Nathalie in s6 is protecting ladybugs identity, if she was put in jail she could’ve revealed marinette and i suspect she’s gonna double cross the kingdom.

If she told just Adrien:

Adrien would either be

- forced to live a lie just like marinette, and the suffering he’s already gone through hearing everyone call his abusive father a hero would be much worse

-or tell the world himself and all the previous consequences would happen

Either way Adrien’s mental state would seriously decline and even though marinette doesn’t know Adrien’s still cat noir and if both hero’s are mentally unstable cerise could win.

The truth will come out eventually but even her buying time has helped

Adrien’s able to first grieve his fathers death before the secret comes out and while that will reshape and regress Adrien’s grief it’s still something

A support group for Adrien has had time to form for when he finds out, Amelie and Felix seem to be planning how to help Adrien once he finds out

Adrien being able to slowly find out that Gabriel’s hawkmoth will minimize the shock and will be better than “hey your dads dead also he’s hawkmoth”

I think it’s easy to say marinettes wrong for lying when we don’t get to see the consequences of what happens if she told the truth,

she’s a 14 year old girl who’s trying to protect her boyfriend from a situation neither of them should of never of had to deal with

Mayura and Chat have, well, tried to make peace, more or less. Some wounds heal while others find their way to scar. What will the next part bring? Will they be able to defeat the akuma, or will their efforts not be enough? We'll see, someday... I hope, because I won't have time to draw for months. I'll see what else I can create. OH MY GOD, I swear... I can't explain what a nightmarish HELL it's been to make this part.

I'm never going to make a comic this detailed and this long EVER AGAIN... Too many ideas for a single part turned it into complete chaos. Organizing the narrative and everything...

I think it could have been better. But it's done now. I'm finally FREEEEE!!!!

Anyways, I wanted to say that the next part won't be coming for quite some time. I want to do other projects before coming back to this one. To clear my head a little from all this...madness.....
