silvanusk:
silvanus opened his mouth to correct her but fell short, his lips shutting quickly, an almost impressed look creeping along his features. “… mooncalf. you’ve been paying attention.” he smiled gently, a brief flicker of the more tender side to him ( buried underneath the bright colours ). “ten points to team pomfrey. that’s a team i made for you and alex so you wouldn’t feel so left out of the house point system. i’m petitioning to make ones for the professors too. i think i heard minerva say something about it possibly being good way to discipline a ‘certain professor’. meaning slughorn of course. he eats waaaaay too much crystallized pineapple to be legal. and for once i’m with minerva: he needs to be restrained. what if his belly gets so big that he just explodes while teaching? what if he wakes up one day, walks into the staffroom and he is a crystalized pineapple?”
poppy chose very pointedly to ignore the strange moment of SOFTNESS that seemed to have washed over his face, an odd and out of character moment that threw her off balance. her eyes flicked up to his and then quickly back down to the ARROW lodged in his thigh she’d been called to attend to. she let a laugh weave around the edges of her smile, an echo of her amusement at the man before her. he’d always been a character, walking into the infirmary on her first day with a dagger lodged in his prosthetic leg, claiming to have been maimed by one of his animals. he could go on for DAYS about absolutely nothing, as he seemed to be doing just then. she pressed a bit harder into the wound, mostly to get him to shut up.
“of course i remembered. you never shut up about the blasted things,” she said, but it was halfway under her breath. “team pomfrey, huh?” she mused, a faint smile on her face. “that would certainly be an eventful day. can’t imagine how i’m expected to fix a man that’s turned into a piece of fruit, but i’m sure alex would be fascinated.”
