Imam Husain رضي الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰ عنه was born to the daughter of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم Sayyidah Fatima رضي الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰعنها in the month of Shaban 4 Hijra, Sayyiduna Hasan, Husain and Mohsin were three brothers. Mohsin passed away in his infancy. When Sayyiduna Hasan, Imam Husain’s older brother, was born, Sayyiduna Ali كَرَّمَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ named him Harb. When the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم enquired as to the chosen name, Sayyiduna Ali كَرَّمَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ said that the name ‘Harb’ had been chosen. However, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم replied his name should be 'Hasan’. When Imam Husain was born, Sayyiduna Ali كَرَّمَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ again named Imam Husain 'Harb’. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم again said, “no his name is Husain.” When the third child was born Sayyiduna Ali كَرَّمَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ again named him Harb, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم again said, “No his name is Mohsin.” Then the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said, “I have given the children the same names that the prophet Harun عليه سلم gave his children.” His childrens’ names were Shaber, Sabbir, and Moshabir, in other words Hasan, Husain, and Mohsin. The names Hasan and Husain are from the people of Paradise. In the time of ignorance, before the time of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم no one had been given these names. [Imam Ibn Atheer narrates the above incident in his book, Usdul-Gabah] . . When Imam Husain رضي الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰ عنه was born, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم came and recited the Adhan in his ear. THE BATTLE OF UHUD:⚔️ REVENGE:🏹 When their heroes were defeated on the Day of Badr and the remnants of the army returned to Makkah, it was a terrible blow for the Quraysh. Men who had lost their fathers, sons and brothers approached Abu Sufyan and others who had valuable merchandise in that caravan. They wanted the profits to be used for fighting the Muslims again. The merchants agreed to their request. The Quraysh decided to conduct a new war. Poets spurred the people on with their militant verses and provoked fanatical zeal in readiness for battle. . A well-equipped Quraysh army set out from Makkah in the middle of Shawwal 3 A.H. The leaders accompanied by their wives advanced until they set up camp at the gates of Madinah. The Quraysh had mustered three thousand soldiers. . The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم thought that the Muslims should stay in the city and fight only if the enemy came into Madinah. Abdullah ibn Ubayy agreed with him but some of the Muslim men who had missed fighting at Badr said, ‘Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم lead us out to face our enemies so that they will not think us cowards and weaklings.’ . They kept urging on the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم until he went into his house and put on his armour. Then those who had suggested going out of the city regretted their insistence and said, ‘We have persuaded you, Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم, for which we had no right. If you wish, stay and may Allah bless you.' . The Messenger صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم of Allah then said, ‘It is not fitting that a Prophet who has put on his armour should put it aside until he has fought.’ . RACE FOR LOVE 💚 . On the day Of Uhud the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم sent back a group of boys because they were too young. They included Samurah ibn Jundub and Rafi’ ibn Khadij who were only fifteen years old. The father of Rafi’ interceded, saying to the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم that his son Rafi’ was a good shot, so the Prophet ﷺ allowed the boy to go. . . Samurah ibn Jundud who was the same age as Rafi’ was presented to the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم who sent him back because he was too young. Samurah said, ‘You gave permission to Rafi’ but you sent me back. If I were to wrestle with him, I would throw him.’ . They wrestled and Samurah threw Rafi’ so he was given permission as well. Hazrat Abu Huraira, رضي الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰ عنه, narrates that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said: “The five daily Salaah, one Jummah Salaah till the next Jummah Salaah and one Ramadhan till the next Ramadhan are all expiations for the time between them provided that major sins are abstained from.” (Muslim) . RasūlAllāh صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "On the day of Jummah, the angels stand at the entrance of that Masjid in which Jummah salaat is to be offered. They write down the name of the person who enters the Masjid first, and thereafter the name of the person who follows, and they continue doing this. The person who entered first will receive the reward of sacrificing a camel in the path of Allah; the one who followed him will get the reward of sacrificing a cow, thereafter a chicken, thereafter the reward of giving an egg as charity in the path of Allah. Once the khutbah commences, the angels close the register and begin listening to the khutbah. “ (Bukhari and Muslim) __________________________________ The Hadith related by Hakim and Bayhaqi, from Abu Sa`id (رضي الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰ عنه), “Whoever recites Surat al-Kahf on Friday, light shall shine forth for him between the two Fridays”. [Ibn Hajar, Talkhis al-Habir] ___________________________________ Hazrat Al Baraa رضي الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰ عنه said that when a man was reciting Surah Kahf with a horse tied with two ropes at one side. Suddenly a cloud overshadowed him, and as it began to come nearer and nearer, his horse began to take fright. Abu Hurairah رضي الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰ عنه relates that the Holy Prophet, صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Allah, the Lord of Honor and glory says: All other deeds of man are for himself, but his fasting is purely for Me and I shall reward him for it. The fast is a shield. When any of you is fasting he should abstain from loose talk and noisy exchanges. Should anyone revile him or seek to pick a quarrel with him, he should respond with: I am observing a fast. By Him in Whose hands is the life of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, the breath of one who is fasting is purer in the sight of Allah than the fragrance of musk. One who fasts experiences two joys: he is joyful when he breaks his fast, and he is joyful by virtue of his fast when he meets his Lord” (Bukhari and Muslim). #Ramadhan1438 . . Every act of goodness is rewarded. Rewards are given based on the sincerity of the intention. Fasting is the only worship about which Allah has said that He Himself is the reward for it. ‎The Prophetic (ﷺ) etiquette of breaking fast: three rutabs (moist dates), or else tamr (dry dates), or else water, mentioning Allah, using the right hand, stating the du`a that fasting was for Allah and breakfast with his rizq (provision), and asking Allah aid in fasting, night-prayer, lowering the eyes, and guarding the tongue in Ramadan. The invocation (du`a) upon breaking fast is answered. The following two du`as should be recited after breaking the fast: . . ‎اَللّهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْتُ وَعَلى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْتُ . . Allahumma laka sumtu wa `alaa rizqika aftartu . . O Allah! For You have I fasted and upon Your sustenance have I broken my fast. [Abu Dawud] . . ‎ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ وَثَبَتَ الأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ . . Dhahab az zamaa’u wab tallatil urooqu wa thabat al-ajru Insha-Allah . . The thirst has vanished, the veins have been wetted and the reward is established - In Shaa Allāh. [Abu Dawud] . The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whosoever fasts experiences two joys. He is joyful when he breaks his fast, and is joyful because of his fasting when he meets his Lord." [Sahih Muslim] . "When evening approaches from this side (east) and the day retreats from this side (west) and the sun has set, the one who is fasting breaks his fast." [Bukhari and Muslim] . . "Break your fast with a date, or with water because it is pure." [Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi] . . The Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him (ﷺ) said: "My nation will remain in goodness as long as they break the fast as soon as it is due." [Muslim] . . It is offensive and unhealthy to stuff the stomach with food after fasting. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Enough for a human being to have luqaymat (=from 3 to 9 mouthfuls) that prop up his spine and, if he must have more [in his stomach], then one third of food, one third of water, and one third of air.” . . It was the routine of the Beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم that whenever he returned from a journey: after offering prayer in the Masjid, he went straight to Sayyidah Fatima رضي الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰعنها house. In short, the love of the Beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم for his cherished daughter was really enviable. . . Hadrat Sayyida Aisha رضي الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰعنها reports: “Whenever she visited the Beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم, he stood up for her, kissed her and seated her on his place.” (Tirmidhi) . . Our intention should be to love her greatly because she was greatly loved by the Beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم. The extent of the Beloved Prophet's صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم love for her was beyond normal bounds. For example, the Beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم would say, "Fatima is a part of me, he who upsets her, upsets me". ✨Durood/Salawat-e-Tunajjina✨ . The great Scholar, Saint, Jurist and author, Imam ibn-Faikihani (radi Allahu anhu) says that there was once a pious man called Sheikh Moosa Zareer (radi Allahu anhu). He embarked on a voyage by ship. Due to a heavy storm, the ship started sinking. All the passengers on board started crying and clamouring, but Sheikh Moosa Zareer (radi Allahu anhu) went to sleep. He saw the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم in his dream and the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم directed him and the passengers to recite Durood/Salawat-e-Tunajjina 1 000 times. Sheikh Moosa Zareer (radi Allahu anhu) got up and started the recitation. As soon as he finished 300 Durood Shareefs/Salawat, the storm subsided and the ship was saved. The other ship on the high seas sank, but this ship reached its destination safely and soundly. This miracle was a sufficient eye-opener for the members of the ship. It was by the Grace of Allah Ta'ala and Durood/Salawat-e-Tunajjina that all were saved. [Fazail -e- Durood p 137] . Advices from the Habaib: . . To read Surah Fath on the first night of Ramadan, make ghusl and intend to fast for the entire month as Allāh سبحانه و تعالى gazes upon His slaves on this night. . . If recited during the 3 days preceding the month of Ramadan, it will ward off the strain of fasting for the whole month If recited during the 1st night of Ramadan, Allah’s protection and help will manifest for the year ahead. . . To break ones fast at Iftar with 3, 5 or 7 dates in preparation for the night of Laylatul-Qadr. . . Recite Quran by day and by night. Pray 20 rakahs of tarawih. Control the tongue during the day. . . In the last ten nights recite the dua of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم much . . 🔸Allahumma innaka afuwwun tuhibbul afwa fa’fu anna. . . Observe the suhoor even if it is little. . . Don’t argue or dispute with others (especially in the last 10 days). . . If Jumuah falls on an odd night in the last 10 days, bring it to life as it is likely that it is the night of Laylatul Qadr. . . If one goes to the masjid, make an intention for i’tikaaf to increase ones reward. . . When you enter the masjid, make an oath to pray 20 rakahs/i’tikaaf, it now becomes wajib for you to complete this oath and the reward is seventy times more for performing a wajib. . . FASTING OF OUR BELOVED PROPHET MUHAMMAD صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم IN THE MONTH OF SHA'BAN Sayyida Aisha رضي الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰعنها mother of believers narrated: "Allah's Messenger صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم used to fast until we would say he was never going to stop fasting, and he would go so long without fasting thet we would say he was never going to fast,but I never saw Allah's Messenger صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم continue a fast from the begning to the end of any month except the month of Ramadan and i never saw do more fasting in any month than he did in Sha'ban.So I asked him "how is it I always see you fasting in Sha'ban?" and he صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said: "O' Aisha,it is the month in which the angel of death has to note down the name of anyone whose soul he must take before the year is out,so I would rather he did not record my name except while I am fasting." Regarding Sayyiduna Uwais Qarni (رضی اللہ عنہ), RasūlAllāh صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said: “Uwais Qarni is the noblest of the Tabieen with ihsaan.” (The highest stage of ihsaan is to worship Allah Ta’ala as if you are seeing Him.) Sometimes RasūlAllāh صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم would turn in the direction of Yemen and say: “I perceive the fragrance of love from Yemen.” RasūlAllāh صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said: “Tomorrow on the Day of Qiyaamah Allah Ta’ala will create 70,000 malaa-ikah in the image of Uwais Qarni who will enter in their midst into Jannat. No one will recognise him except those whom Allah wishes.” Since he engrossed himself in ibaadat in concealment, fleeing from people, Allah Ta’ala will preserve his concealment even in the Aakhirah. Allah Ta’ala has said: “My Auliyaa are under My Mantle. When the Sahaabah enquired about the identity of this man, RasūlAllāh صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said: “A servant among the servants of Allah.” The Sahaabah responded: “We all are the servants of Allah. Regarding Sayyiduna Uwais Qarni (رضی اللہ عنہ), RasūlAllāh صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said: “Uwais Qarni is the noblest of the Tabieen with ihsaan.” (The highest stage of ihsaan is to worship Allah Ta’ala as if you are seeing Him.) Sometimes RasūlAllāh صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم would turn in the direction of Yemen and say: “I perceive the fragrance of love from Yemen.” RasūlAllāh صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said: “Tomorrow on the Day of Qiyaamah Allah Ta’ala will create 70,000 malaa-ikah in the image of Uwais Qarni who will enter in their midst into Jannat. No one will recognise him except those whom Allah wishes.” Since he engrossed himself in ibaadat in concealment, fleeing from people, Allah Ta’ala will preserve his concealment even in the Aakhirah. Hazrat Huraira, رضي الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰ عنه, narrates that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said: “The five daily Salaah, one Jummah Salaah till the next Jummah Salaah and one Ramadhan till the next Ramadhan are all expiations for the time between them provided that major sins are abstained from.” (Muslim) . RasūlAllāh صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "On the day of Jummah, the angels stand at the entrance of that Masjid in which Jummah salaat is to be offered. They write down the name of the person who enters the Masjid first, and thereafter the name of the person who follows, and they continue doing this. The person who entered first will receive the reward of sacrificing a camel in the path of Allah; the one who followed him will get the reward of sacrificing a cow, thereafter a chicken, thereafter the reward of giving an egg as charity in the path of Allah. Once the khutbah commences, the angels close the register and begin listening to the khutbah. “ (Bukhari and Muslim) __________________________________ The Hadith related by Hakim and Bayhaqi, from Abu Sa`id (رضي الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰ عنه), “Whoever recites Surat al-Kahf on Friday, light shall shine forth for him between the two Fridays”. Suddenly a cloud overshadowed him, and as it began to come nearer and nearer, his horse began to take fright. When the beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم saw a child, his ﷺ blessed face would be covered in joy. He ﷺ would hold that child, hug, caress, pat and kiss him. He ﷺ would greet each child he met and ask about his/her health. When he ﷺ saw a child while he was riding an animal, he ﷺ would make the child ride pillion and give him/her a lift. He ﷺ would talk to children as if he was their friend and would give them advice according to their level of understanding. Once, a Bedouin came to Holy Prophet ‎صلى الله عليه وسلم and said, "O Messenger of Allah ‎ﷺ! Do you kiss children? We do not kiss them."The Beloved Prophet ‎صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "What can I do if Allah removed the feeling of mercy from your heart?" Thus, the Prophet ‎صلى الله عليه وسلم stated that the feeling of mercy and compassion can be seen the most distinctly related to love of children and compassion shown toward them. Hazrat Khubayb bin ^Adiy may Allah have mercy upon him, he was taken as a hostage in Makkah, and was taken far to be beheaded, to be killed, listen to what he said to them, he said “give me time to pray two rak^ah”, so he prayed two rak^ah quickly and said to the blasphemers “if it wasn’t for the fact that you would wrongly think that I’m scared of death, I would have prolonged my prayer, but just so that you don’t think I’m scared from death”. They brought to behead him, they tortured him, and raised him on a stick to behead him, they told him “Do you prefer that you are with your family and Muhammad صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم is in your place”?
