You swung your legs to the edge of the mattress, lowering them till you felt your feet touch the ground. Quickly brushing your teeth and getting dressed, you walked out of the room and spotted Scaramouche on the sofa.

“Hey. Did you sleep okay?” You sat down next to him.

“Yeah. My ride will be here in a few minutes. I met your roommate, she was a little startled when she saw me. Did you not tell her I was here?” Scaramouche pulled himself out of his thoughts and looked at you.

“Oh, she was busy, I didn’t want to disturb her. Who’s picking you up?”

“My roommate,” Scaramouche looked at his phone, bracing to stand. “He just texted me. I’ll wait outside. I’ve stayed here long enough.”

“Oh, it’s totally fine, I kept you here.”

He didn’t reply and walked over to the front door. He pulled his shoes on.

“…Be safe. Text me when you get home. Thank you for, uh, everything, I guess?” You scratched the back of your neck. “I’m sorry I pulled you into this mess.”

“It’s fine. You should tell the police about this before it escalates further.”

“Lumine has connections, she’s already informed someone.”

“Alright,” Scaramouche pulled the door open and stepped out. “Don’t go anywhere alone.”

“I won’t. Thank you again!” You watched the door as it closed and the locks clicked into place.
