I'm not comfortable with pelvic exams. Can they be modified?
"If you’ve had pain with pelvic exams in the past, or if you’re nervous about the exam, speak to your provider about it. Modifications to the exam can make the experience more comfortable and are always okay to ask for – here are some adjustments that may be helpful:
Your provider can select a smaller speculum size to better fit your anatomy.
Your provider can apply more lubricant to your vaginal opening and the speculum. (Physicians used to worry that lube would interfere with cell sampling to screen for diseases, but that’s not the case – water-based lubricant doesn’t affect those tests.)
You may be able to change your body position to increase your comfort. The infamous “stirrups” in which patients commonly place their feet for a pelvic exam help providers visualize the inner pelvis. However, they can feel demeaning or triggering for some people. Here are some alternative positions you may be able to try:
The “letter M”: knees bent and feet on the end of the exam table, thighs apart.
The “letter V”: on your back with legs straight out on the table, separated in a V shape.
The “diamond”: knees bent, soles of feet together with legs open in a diamond shape.
Sidelying: lying on one side with hips and knees bent up towards your torso.
In some cases, providers can recommend anti-spasm medication to help relax the pelvic floor muscles before an exam. This is often placed inside the vagina and allowed to dissolve there to target the muscles directly. In other cases, you can be prescribed one dose of oral medication to take before the exam.
In many cases, you won’t need to worry about getting this kind of exam at all. If you don’t have symptoms or any prior history of any gynecological conditions, the speculum exam might not be very useful. Importantly, an exam with a speculum is NOT necessary to screen for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or to prescribe birth control (unless you’re getting an IUD"

In Canada, you can get a cervix self-screening kit mailed to you instead. You don't need to do a Pap or pelvic exam after that if your results are negative. It is supposed to be more effective at detecting cancer than the regular Pap and pelvic exam combo too. If you still need a follow up, and have had a bad experience in the past, go to a clinic that specializes in sexual health - the staff are usually better trained, have more practice, and generally tries to make it less of an ordeal if at all possible.
i know when people say "pillow princesses don't just lie there" that they're trying to convey that high/stone femmes and stone bottoms are not lazy and selfish in bed. however, please keep in mind that there are some people who are only able to have sex in a position where they are on their back and receiving. whether due to trauma, disability, or other factors, no one should be made to feel ashamed for having sex in a way that works for them. supporting stone bottoms means supporting all stone bottoms, not just those who have sex in a way that you find hot.

Saw some people were interested so I figured I'll do a full guide on their interactions and how to romance them! This guide WILL be updated occasionally, I'm not some DoL master or anything, just somebody who got really obsessed with Gwylan and binged all their content in the span of like two weeks. Their wiki is so sparse right now so I had to do most of this blind or ask for help in the DoL Discord server.
Please note this will have EXTREME spoilers for both Gwylan and Avery's 'Pride Cometh'/Mansion story line!
Who is Gwylan/Where can I find them?
Gwylan the Shopkeeper was a minor NPC at first that can be found in the forest outskirts right outside of town. They run the Strange/Forest Shop, and it's here you can unlock clothing based on fulfilling various quests, requirements, and unlocking locations.
How do I raise love/interest?
As of version 0.5.6.10, unlocking clothing is the ONLY way to raise love/interest and it cannot be manipulated in the cheats menu. Meaning even if you play with cheats, you're going to be spending a hefty amount of time unlocking other game content. Hopefully in the future there will be other ways to raise love/interest!
How do I unlock clothing?

Gwylan Timetable
Gwylan can be found at Sam's cafe from 7:20-9:20, and you're given the option to sit/eat with them! This won't raise love/interest at all, but there are the rare opportunities to gain lust, as well as the opportunity for various different dialogue. With higher interest, they'll offer to walk with you to the cafe (by meeting them on Domus Street anytime between 7:00-7:45, or if you're staying with Avery on Danube Street at the same time), as well as walk you to school.
Outside of the cafe, they'll be at the Forest Shop from 9:20-23:00.
During Avery's story line, you can also request to see Gwylan as the Brown Fox at the pub through Landry, where you'll be given tasks to do at Avery's parties.
Gwylan Interactions
Unlocking Clothing/Raising Interest
As I said, the only way to raise interest is to unlock clothing. This cannot be manipulated through cheats or editing the save file. Some clothing will unlock automatically on a specific date, HOWEVER please note that you will not gain interest points by saying something showed up on Halloween/Christmas/Valentine's... etc. In the cheats menu, it gives you an option to 'unlock all special clothing'—DO NOT CLICK THIS. You will not gain ANY interest points and Gwylan will know. They will know.
Hypnosis
Gwylan's given the unique option to help PC in a multitude of ways.
If you have any sort of transformation, they can help you come to acceptance through hypnosis.
They can remove other hypnosis affects (side eyes Harper) including the inability to cry for help, the urge to flaunt, and more.
They can help remove hallucinations if you're hallucinating.
They can help with sleep (insomnia, nightmares, and panic attacks).
None of these raise interest, but can raise lust and yearning. Yearning will originally show up as +??? until it's officially unlocked. Please keep in note that doing any hypnosis affects will further tie you to Gwylan and make willpower checks against them increasingly difficult, as well as make PC feel bad when they can't do tasks for them. HOWEVER, this protects PC from all other hypnosis effects, helping protect against Harper specifically.
And speaking of tasks..
Tasks
In exchange for doing any hypnosis on you, Gwylan will ask for favors in return. These... are a pain in the fucking ass. Sometimes they'll ask you to wear clothing back to them (and sometimes they'll just take the clothing off your body and keep it, forcing you to either run home naked or buy clothing at their shop... sighs) or ask you to retrieve ingredients for them. The first request is always to gather wolfshrooms, which can be found in the woods past the lake. After that, they'll be randomized until they ask for gold jewelry from the Adult Shop (which you'll need to unlock through Sirris). The gold jewelry is essential to unlocking a clothing item from Gwylan's shop.
They might also ask for Great Hawk's feathers if you've told Gwylan about GH. A good way to bypass this is to have the Bird TF, in where you can ask Gwylan to preen your wings yourself which I believe raises both lust and yearning.
Gwylan's tasks can get pretty ridiculous. They'll ask for like, 74 spoonfuls of sugar, 22 roses, 24 pears... some odd combination of items you either have to forage or go to the supermarket for. Unfortunately, it's all completely randomized and you can't progress with hypnosis until you complete the task. Sigh.
Forest Events
Gwylan has three unique events for while you're traveling in the forest.
Hunting you: Before you hit the lake, you may get the notification that something is hunting you. The forest will go silent, and you might hear humming/singing nearby. This is Gwylan! Eventually, they'll find you and chase you—I learned you can easily outrun them. LOL. If you choose to walk or stand still, they'll catch up and can either hand you some berries or dance with you or do something small but cute. If you've unlocked them as a love interest, this might progress into a combat encounter as well that you can't escape (I tried pushing them away and they entranced me and turned it into a noncon).
Saving you: If you find yourself in a noncon encounter before you hit the lake, choosing to scream will have Gwylan come to your rescue and save you! They'll warn you that they won't hear you past the lake. Something to note: if you scream during an Eden or Black Wolf encounter, Gwylan will show up only to run away when they see who is attacking you. They'll apologize later when you go to their shop next time but... c'mon, man.
Ivory Wraith: On the night of a blood moon, you can encounter Gwylan in the forest. The first time, they'll ask if you need help, and when they see you are going towards the lake they'll force you to come back to their shop and can help expel the Ivory Wraith. On encounters after that one, if the Wraith attacks you in the woods and you scream, Gwylan will come to your rescue and help you fight off the Wraith. I'm not sure if you need a specific amount of interest/yearning for this right now, I didn't pay attention to my numbers when I encountered these events.
Forest Shop Events and Unlocking Rituals
As you unlock clothing, you'll start unlocking events when you visit the forest shop. There are four of them (I think, I can't remember one of them but I remember somebody telling me there were four). One will be Gwylan kicking wolves out of the shop. The other will be finding the Garden, which the first time Gwylan will make you forget about it. Finding the Garden requires you to go through a maze which is tedious and also randomized but only takes a few minutes to get the hang of.
The last event is discovering the Garden again and watching Gwylan have an encounter with a denizen of the forest (either a wolfboy/wolfgirl or a dryad). If your deviancy is high enough, you can assist and talk to Gwylan about this. This will unlock weekly rituals with Gwylan to 'purify' the forest.
Purifying the Forest (Rituals and Charms)
There are two ways to help purify the forest: helping Gwylan collect samples for their charms (this refreshes every 14 days) and rituals (done every 7 days).
Charms: Gwylan will give you a task to collect 'samples' for them. Depending on what you have enabled this will include people, dryads (and/or their tentacles), and wolfpeople. These will be sexual fluid, so if Gwylan asks for 7 samples from humans, that means you're gonna have to sleep with 7 different people. These requests are completely randomized and based on your gameplay settings.
Rituals: Every 7 days, you're given the opportunity to do a ritual with Gwylan, which is the closest you'll get to having an encounter with them for a while. You're given the option of which forest denizen to lure out for the ritual, but I don't have bestiality enabled at all for any of my saves so I'm not sure how they all differ as I've only ever done the dryads. This helps raise lust by a lot, and sometimes the opportunity to raise yearning.
Unlocking Gwylan Ritual Encounter
Further down the way, with enough lust and interest (I'd say about 75% interest at least and maybe 80% lust, although not certain) Gwylan will mention doing a ritual with just you. This is key to unlocking them as a love interest. This ritual will be just with you and Gwylan, and will involve having to chase them down. I recommend having high athletics, dance, and skullduggery for this. While you don't have to catch Gwylan to continue with this, it will raise their yearning and lust up by a bit, plus increase purging effectiveness. Please note the checks get increasingly harder as it goes by—even with S rank in dance I was really struggling with dodging their attacks.
Unlocking Gwylan as a Love Interest
In order to unlock Gwylan as a love interest, you'll need two things.
Interest level at 75% or above (recommended, not sure if it's an actual requirement)
Done at least one private ritual with Gwylan
After the first ritual, you'll go through with another ritual. During the ritual, push back against Gwylan—you'll need high willpower and athletics, probably S rank for both because even with S rank it was difficult for me to pass this. If you succeed, you'll be on top. Then, you have to break their one rule—kiss them. Keep kissing them until they push you off, and they'll kick you out of the shop.
You'll be banned from the shop for about a week. Eventually, you'll find a crow tapping on the window of whatever residence you're at (for sure at the Orphanage or Avery's Mansion, not sure about other places such as Alex's Farm, Eden's Cabin, Great Hawk's Tower or Black Wolf's Cave—if anybody knows about these please lmk!). It'll be from Gwylan. Go back to their Forest Shop, and voila! You've unlocked them as a love interest!
Gwylan's Familiar Collar
To unlock Gwylan's Familiar Collar, you'll need high yearning, high lust, and high interest. They'll offer to put a magical collar on you which comes with some pros and cons.
Pros:
Nobody can strangle you in an encounter
It will tell them when you're in danger
Nobody can hypnotize you
Nobody else can collar/leash you
Cons:
No matter how high your willpower is, you will not be able to resist Gwylan.
Gwylan doesn't give you the option to refuse. I tried to refuse and they put on the collar anyways. HOWEVER, you can ask them to remove the collar after it's on and they'll abide after you complete one of their random tasks for them. You can then put the collar on/take it off whenever you want.
Subsequent Eden Encounter
To get the specialized Eden encounter, you'll need a couple of requirements.
Familiar Collar Equipped/Gwylan as a love interest
Eden's trust and love low.
Basically, you need Eden to hunt you down in the forest to bring you back to his cabin to try and cage you. Have Eden find you in the woods, initiate a noncon encounter, and scream. Gwylan will come to your rescue and it will kickstart a very long scene + chase. I highly recommend trying this. It gets their yearning up by a LOT, and the content is absolutely amazing (plus, if you're not an Eden fan you get to see them get their ass handed to them).
Gwylan as the Brown Fox
If you're doing Avery's Pride Cometh storyline and have replaced the wishing bones in Avery's Mansion as Landry requested, you'll eventually meet the Brown Fox who will give you tasks for Avery's Parties. This is Gwylan! This is another good way to get yearning and lust up.
Fun note: if you do this after kissing Gwylan during the ritual but before they reach out to you, you get some unique dialogue where you can approach them at the pub after asking for the Brown Fox!!
Fulfilling all of Gwylan's tasks as the Brown Fox will raise yearning sometimes, and they'll come save you at the end of it all if you decide to dismiss Avery during the quest (if you know, you know). I absolutely hate Avery but I do HIGHLY recommend going through his story line. Not only do you get a bunch of Gwylan lore, but you get lore on Bailey, Robin, Harper, and a little bit on Quinn and Remy, as well as a bunch of new interactions with all of the above NPCs plus a possibility of a unique event where Whitney steals Avery's car (LOL).
I have not tried an ending where I save Avery (lmao) so I do not know how the interactions are different or if Gwylan shows up at all.
Unlocking the Forest Shop Bed
With the familiar collar on and high enough yearning/interest, you're able to ask Gwylan if you can sleep there. They'll pull out a pet bed (sigh) and you can then sleep at the shop. It's on a week by week basis—you'll need to continuously ask if they can pull it out for you, and they'll have you complete more of their tasks.
Additional Notes
This guide isn't complete. I tried my best to unlock absolutely all Gwylan content, but there's probably still a little bit that I've missed because every time I'm certain I unlocked it all, I have a new encounter with them.
With that said, if anybody has additions/addendums to make to this guide, PLEASEEEE let me know! The wiki is empty so I really did have to go through and play all content and my brain's a bit fried so I know it's fully possible I got something wrong or messed up somewhere in here.
