I just watched Ultimate Spider-Man vs The Sinister 6. Can you tell me something about Scarlet Spider? He is there and I don't know much about him.
Our story starts with professor Miles Warren, who taught Peter at ESU. He also happened to have the hots for Gwendolyne Stacy. When Gwen was killed by the Goblin, he decided to clone her.
Going batshit crazy, Prof. Warren took the identity of The Jackal and battled Spider-Man.
Warren’s first attempt at cloning Peter Parker sadly failed due to degeneration and it resulted in the disfigured Kaine, who was a serial killer at the start. Warren ultimately created a perfect clone, who went on to call himself Ben Reilly and who was Peter’s beloved brother, although they had a shaky start due to them being unable to tell which one of them was the original and which one was the copy.
Kaine, becoming a killer and a hit man, began to stalk Ben, whom he thought to be the original, trying to ruin his life so that his ‘clone brother’ Peter could be the one and only.
Kaine’s killings were blamed on Peter because they had the same fingerprints but Kaine finally confessed to the murders, demonstrating that he is the one with the ‘mark of kaine’, a distinctive burn he leaves on his victims.
Kaine seemingly died once during a fight with The Jackal but was placed in a regeneration pod and survived.
I’ll skip several story arcs, just know that Kaine’s degeneration and scars were cured thanks to the Anti-Venom symbiot during Spider Island.
After that, Kaine Parker had only one desire : going to Mexico and drink margaritas on the beach. But he is a Parker and arriving at Houston, trouble found him. He rescued a girl named Aracely Penalba who has telepathic powers and kept her to protect her. They settled in Houston for a while, Kaine defending the city as the Scarlet Spider, until Kraven tortured his friends to get to Kaine. Aracely and Kaine made it to Mexico but they only had time for one margarita before trouble found them again and they ended up joining the New Warriors.
Kaine embraced the Other during a fight in which he was mortally wounded, turning into a very spidery monster, in order to save Aracely, who was able to reach his human side and turn him back once they were safe.
During Spider Verse, when all the spiders in the multiverse were hunted by the Inheritors who eat their life energy, one of the inheritors recognized him as The Other, to be used in a ritual. Kaine turned into the Other for the final battle and killed the leader of the inheritors but Morlun killed him in turn. Last we saw, Kaine was emerging alive for The Other’s body but we still don’t know his current whereabouts. (probably Mexico drinking margaritas, he earned it)
Kaine Parker is much more grumpier than his brothers, he swears a lot and his motto would be ‘all the power none of the responsibilities’ but he is now a hero, whether he likes it or not.
