I believe I am faced with a problem that many people are facing at the moment: tumblr suddenly decided to log me out of my account and force me to change my password. this is understandable for security reasons, but it’s also wrong not to notify people in advance.

I’m sure that like me, a lot of people have an e-mail account that they don’t use for the sole purpose of being their tumblr e-mail. So, when I tried to access that account today, I found out that it wasn’t accessible anymore, that the server is no longer active. I immediately started freaking out and searched the internet for ways of accessing it. I just found out that I can access it if I pay an annual fee.

However, I’ve never had to pay to use tumblr and I hope I’ll never have to. All I ask is that you change my e-mail from the inaccessible one to my current one, which I already informed you about through the fan mails and e-mails that I have sent you. Last case scenario, I’ll try to pay the fee only to access tumblr and change my e-mail. Then I’ll try to cancel the old e-mail account as soon as legally possible so I don’t have to pay anymore. The whole process will bring me much, much headache and I’m sure some people won’t have this option, some people are probably left with no way of ever getting back their tumblr accounts unless you help them.

Please help them and please help me. Let change my e-mail so that I can access my tumblr again. You can easily verify that it is me since, 1. I’m posting this through mobile and 2. It’s my face in that picture, just check hedasambassador.tumblr.com/tagged/my-face

It may seem silly for some but tumblr means a lot to me and I can’t picture myself without it. It also may seem silly that I don’t want to go through with getting a paid membership of an e-mail I don’t use for the sole purpose of getting my tumblr back (for some it may seem silly that I’m willing to go through with that if nothing works).

So please, please help me and others with this problem. And for my followers, I hope none of you are having this problem and if nothing works (not even paying the membership), I love you a lot and I hope at least mobile still works.

Tumblr’s Staff has posted about a third party obtaining access to select tumblr accounts. While they say there has been no evidence to prove this third party is trying to access these accounts, there have been multiple people who have been affected and hacked. Mitzu ( @mitzusins) was one of those hacked. Oolay ( @oolay-tiger) has also been affected, but not hacked.

Please listen to me folks. If you have been signed out of your account without your own doing so, D O  N O T click any links to reset a paaword on an email. You can do this on your own Tumblr, and clicking on any links can make your personal information available to this hacker. 

If you have clicked on a link and reset your password, I’m telling you right now: CHANGE YOUR TUMBLR AND EMAIL PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY UPON READING THIS. You can possibly save yourself from being hacked and blocked from your email account by doing this.

Please reblog and spread this as fast as you can. Many peoples’ accounts and personal information are at stake and this is a horrific event that is happening. If you know anyone who is being affected ESPECIALLY forward them this post. Thank you all for sharing, and please be safe.

This is 100% true. I got logged out today, something that has never happened to me before. And I got sent a password changing link from ‘Gmail’…even though I wanted to change my TUMBLR password and my email is MSN. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD THROUGH A EMAIL LINK. YOU CAN CHANGE IT ON TUMBLR YOURSELF.
