Hi, this is a request for help with something I’ve asked for before, but it got almost no traction.

I am a trans writer with limited resources and only one vehicle, which is both my transportation and my therapy. For the past month it has been in the shop getting a new gas tank put on, and this week I found out it will cost almost twice what I was originally told (extra labor, mostly, plus some extra parts needed).

Without the money to fix the vehicle, I’m spending what little I can save out of my budget on delivery fees for groceries, and without saving that up, I am making no progress towards getting it back.

It will cost me around $1800 to get it back, and at this point I am stumped and panicking. Every little bit helps.

I am obsessed with this.

So because parkour is such a ridiculously male dominated sport, the "correct technique" for a lot of these movements that you're taught when you become an instructor plays to a male body's strengths: upper body strength, higher center of gravity, etc.

She demolishes this course by moving in ways that make sense for her body. She doesn't muscle her way up to her over a wall, she just throws a leg up over the wall. She doesn't use upper body strength to do the salmon ladder, she uses her hips!!! And it's fucking incredible.

So many girls and young women walk away from parkour because every movement caters to the strengths of men, because doing what makes sense for their bodies is seen as "bad technique" to be trained away.

If pre-transition me had seen this I would have cried tears of joy.

A Unicorn, a mythical beast captured and slaughtered after it comes out of the forest to greet a Virgin. Outside of its original metaphorical context, it is a disturbing story,  the young nameless woman used as a part of the hunting game of the mob to murder a mythical conscious being. Instead, I wanted to show something soft and tender. The Lady as an adult woman closer to her thirties rather than the teenage years and being there by her own will, fully present. The little magic goat, the Unicorn, as safely resting and unharmed. Enough of the hunts and games. 

(I wanted to draw this image for quite a while, but were finally inspired to do so after watching this video I found on Youtube when searching for the Lady and The Unicorn tapestries documentary to watch)
