Richard and Seonaid P2P 2013

I don't know all their names - but each and every one is there, both sides of the road, in steel and in life size form!

These are life sized dinosaurs ! Welcome to Erenhot , 4km from the Mongolian border.. Mongolia is famous for ( not only the Gobi desert)  the bones of more than 150 dinosaurs and more than 300 lizards having been found here.

Another city - this one brand spanking new.

Putting those kilometres behind us - great road ( we did not appreciate roads like this until we were in Mongolia! And then, something in the distance on the horizon...

We realised we were getting closer to Mongolia when the shapes for the building started to change... also not many trees / greenery here. Outer Mongolia here we come... PC that was meant to be a lunch stop but the village was closed.

Note great roads and another big city ( yes these are BIG - like a million inhabitants at least) and they are all new. Nothing more than 15 or 20 years old - if that!

Followed Monte and Phil for simply ages - and catching up to Daniel and Alexandra again. ( 1959 Jaguar MK1)

Another HUGE city in the middle of yet again, no where and out the other side to head into the mountains yet again.

Chinese tolls - they are frequent ( although not as frequent as the traffic cops!) but inexpensive ( very chesp in fact!).

Once again heading leaving the city and heading into the high mountains. Alot of clay mined here and still evidence of the Great wall high on the mountain edges( this is nearly 800 km from Beijing).
