Summary: The relationship you have with Giyuu Tomioka is still fairly new, but everything seems to move quickly and you donât really mind it.
Pairing: Giyuu Tomioka x Fem!Reader

Note: I have no excuse for how late this is apart from writer's block and life. Sorry. But now you get to read the cute little moments I've been waiting to do ever since I started this fic. đ
âGiyuu, itâs okay! Youâll feel the baby kicking eventually!â
You really donât mean to laugh after saying that, even when Giyuu looks away briefly, but you canât help it. Ever since you finally felt your baby kicking, heâs tried every day the last week to feel the movement himself but anytime he tries your child refuses to kick or move at all for him. You could tell him the baby was moving all over the place in your belly, but the second he sets his hand there, all the movement stops. You attempted the first time to suggest that maybe the baby wore themselves out and was taking a nap, but every time itâs happened since, youâve had no excuse and Giyuu is really starting to believe your child already hates him and they arenât even born yet.
Youâre trying to convince him that the baby doesnât hate him, maybe theyâre still getting used to kicking at you and donât understand who it is thatâs trying to feel them kicking, but Giyuu doesnât fully believe you. He wants to, but itâs just hard for him to think anything otherwise.
âHere, come here! Try again! Theyâre kicking again!â
Giyuu almost says no, but he decides to let you take his hand and set it on the spot you swear youâre feeling those little kicks at. It doesnât even take a minute before he shakes his head and you frown, more upset than you think you should be just from your child stopping their kicking. You look like you might cry, so Giyuu quietly kisses the top of your head and sits beside you.
âI just want you to feel them kickingâŠâ
âI know,â Giyuu sighs a little as he puts his arm around you, pulling you into a hug to try and keep you from crying or anything like that, âOne day Iâll feel them kicking, maybe we just have to give the baby some time.â
ââŠsince when are you so positive?â
Your comment makes him laugh, shaking his head as Giyuu feels you smile against him, returning his hug.
Giyuu smiles to himself as you laugh this time, agreeing that you must be changing him little by little, which he doesnât mind at all. Once your child is born, he wants to be there through everything and knows only good memories can come from the changes that are just a few short months away.
The rest of the day he still tries, knowing you donât mind when Giyuu sets his hand on your belly at random times, so long as you arenât busy doing anything else. At one point he thinks he feels the smallest flutter against his hand, but you donât have any reaction so he doesnât bring it up. You try again too through the day, anytime you feel the baby kicking but it always stops right as Giyuu sets his hand where you place it.
You honestly donât believe his worries that the baby doesnât like him, but you hate that he still hasnât felt those little kicks. You really do hope that once the baby is born, youâll get to watch how quickly the bond between father and child grows over time.
Giyuu canât wait to feel your child moving, knowing that soon enough theyâll be born and youâll both get to hold and care for them. He never thought about this before you came along, having his own family, a child to raise with someone he loved. Whether he feels your child kicking or not doesnât matter in the long run, not when heâs anxious to see and hold your baby more than anything else now.

A few days later you have an appointment with Shinobu, sheâs wanting to see you every few weeks now to ensure you and the baby are doing well. Itâs all just a precaution, she promises to Giyuu even when he seems anxious to let her take you back to her office without him at first. She swears sheâll send Aoi for him once sheâs done with your check up so he can be there while she checks on the baby, knowing he wants to be as involved as possible through the whole process. Shinobu makes a comment about it later, but you simply laugh and say youâre grateful Giyuu is so involved with your appointments with her and everything else. You feel lucky heâs by your side.
When heâs finally called for, Giyuu is by your side instantly and you take his hand to reassure him everything is perfectly fine. He does believe you, he knows Shinobu is taking good care of you, especially as she gently places the end of her stethoscope to your belly and quiets for a moment to listen for your babyâs heartbeat.
âGood, sounds great!â
You smile, feeling relieved at that and Shinobu looks over at Giyuu with a smile herself.
âDo you want to hear it, Tomioka-san?â
You try not to laugh when Giyuu looks at Shinobu, almost bewildered as he blinks several times. He didnât think heâd be allowed to try and hear your babyâs heartbeat, her asking is a surprise and it makes him look from her to you, seeing you smile, then back to your friend.
ââŠcan I?â
Both you and Shinobu nod, as she takes the stethoscope out of her ears, keeping the one end on your belly, and letting Giyuu come over to take her place in front of you. You can see heâs a little shaky when he takes the other end of the stethoscope and puts it in his ears, like heâs afraid to hear your babyâs heartbeat or that he wonât hear it. It becomes quiet while Shinobu tries to find a good spot where the stethoscope can pick up the heartbeat, you watch Giyuuâs face to see when he finally hears it, barely noticing his eyes widen just a bit when it seems like he does.
ââŠitâs so fast.â
âIt is and very strong sounding, thatâs completely normal,â Shinobu laughs a little, trying to keep it light when she sees you tearing up watching him, âAnd have you been feeling movement yet?â
âA little bit here and there, not all the time but Iâve felt some really strong kicksâŠGiyuu hasnât been able to feel it yetâŠâ
Shinobu hums a bit with a nod, taking the stethoscope from Giyuu once heâs done and goes back to your side.
âThat sounds normal too, Iâm sure heâll feel some kicks soon,â she watches as Giyuu quietly kisses the top of your head, smiling even when he hugs you gently and hides his face from her sight, âIf not, thatâs okay, you will eventually. Weâll keep checking in every few weeks and listening to that little heartbeat until theyâre born.â
Giyuu barely listens, still thinking about how fast your childâs heartbeat is and they arenât even born yet. Heâs so amazed by it that it makes him slightly nervous to leave on his next mission in a few days, he doesnât want to miss anything else nor does he want to leave you alone should this mission go sideways. You were so distraught over Kyojuro almost dying that he would hate to leave you in such a state when youâre not even six months pregnant yet.
âIts crazy to hear that heartbeat, isnât it, Yuu?â
ââŠyeah.â
You can tell heâs thinking too much just by that response, so you start to pull him along a little faster, saying you want to go into the nearby village and have dinner at your favorite ramen place, something Giyuu refuses to deny you as you do pull him from his thoughts. Though even during your dinner, he canât help but think that maybe itâs about time he takes his break from missions until you give birth.
The Master would understandâŠIâm sure of it.

âWhat does it feel like?â
Youâre barely in bed when Giyuu asks his question, making you stop for a second to look at him, blinking a few times before tilting your head. His question could apply to multiple things, so youâre confused on heâs talking about even when you notice heâs looking at your belly.
âWhat does what feel like?â
âWhen they kick,â he doesnât look at your face right away, maybe out of embarrassment, but when he does he looks away quickly, âIâŠdoes it feel weird?â
It almost makes you laugh seeing how shy Giyuu is about asking, you donât even think its that weird that heâs curious. Youâre carrying his child, he still hasnât felt them moving, so of course he wants to know what it might feel like to you especially. He knows heâs felt babies kick in the past, but now that its his child thatâs moving and making their presence known, heâs still anxious to feel that himself.
You have to take a moment to think about how to explain it, laying down and making yourself comfortable even as Giyuu continues to watch you from his spot in your bed.
âItsâŠodd, or it was the first time I really noticed it. Its like a little flutter sometimes, other times it feels like a bubble popping in my stomach, which I know sounds weird but thatâs the best way I can describe it,â you shrug a little, Giyuu seems like heâs thinking about it as he lays beside you, letting you take his hand and place it where youâve been feeling the kicks more lately, both of you hoping heâll feel it finally, ââŠbut it also feels so cool, you know? Like, I donât know, feeling them move and kick, knowing thatâs our baby in hereâŠI think itâs the coolest thing Iâve ever gotten to do.â
âYeah?â
âOf course,â you nod with a small laugh, making Giyuu smile at you, âIâm literally growing a person, Yuu, its so cool! Even with how sick I was at the start, I'm so happy I get to do this and that weâll get to meet our baby soonâŠâ
Heâs quiet for a moment, but Giyuu nods and agrees with you.
âI think youâre amazing, you know, doing this and being so happy to do so,â it makes you blush a bit to hear that as you giggle and hug him, âI still canât believe this is happening sometimes.â
âDonât worry, neither can I.â
You both stay awake for a while longer, talking about everything you can think of before Giyuu quiets, flinching slightly when he finally feels a small thump against his hand, quickly looking to your face and seeing the grin you have with tears in your eyes as you laugh at his surprise.
âWhatâŠIâŠwas thatââ
âYes! That was the baby!â
Thereâs so much happiness and excitement in his eyes, Giyuu canât believe heâs finally felt your child kick, the one thing heâs been so anxious for the last couple of weeks. It felt so strange, just a small hit against his hand from your stomach, but your excitement is what gets him to smile gently, even as you start to cry because youâre simply so relieved. It made you sad every time he tried to feel the kicks before and your child stopped moving around, knowing Giyuu thought your baby hated him while still in the womb. Now that heâs felt them moving, all your emotions have rushed to the surface and you canât help your happy tears, Giyuu hugging you as you laugh a bit.
âS-sorry, Iâm justâŠhappy!â
âDonât apologize, I get it.â
If he wasnât busy helping you settle down, Giyuu might be crying right alongside you. His relief is even greater than your own, though he may never tell you that. Its strange, to feel your childâs kick all of a sudden, but heâs so happy to finally know just how real this is going to be in a few short months, the baby thatâs kicked at his hand will be in your arms soon and Giyuu doesnât think heâd changed this for anything in the world.
katsuki i donât ever want kids theyâre hard to handle and little assholes bakugou is somehow so natural with kid in his arms, like scarily so.
holding a lost childâs hand as he weaves through the streets to find a police station, following the little kids directions as to where they last saw their parents.
crouched on the ground to sign little posters from kids with shaking hands and teary eyes. big scary dynamite making himself smaller to not scare the little ones.
balancing a kid on his hip as he debriefs with the hero commission after a mission. the kid has crossed the police tape, ducking under the flimsy plastic while shouting for dynamite who turned at the commotion, ready to bark expletives at whoever was demanding his attention only to spot the preschooler running with open arms. he gathers the kid in his arm in a single sweep, placing them on his hip as he continues on with the conversation.
itâs so natural the way he moves through the crowd, following the kids directions to their frantically searching partners (the kid saw the flash of katsukiâs suit in the air as he flew over the crowds and BOLTED headlong in the direct of his favourite hero) the press goes CRAZY for the photos, headlines and front page spreads, the explosive and scary number two hero (shush he is number two in my hc) seen being fatherly, soft, gentle.
katsuki i donât ever want kids theyâre hard to handle and little assholes bakugou is a natural born father. change my mind.
a/n: i am ONCE AGAIN writing this at work cause why couldnât think inspiration find me when i was at home sitting at my desk with unlimited time so pls ignore typos
if anyone has fanart of katsuki with kids, especially him holding a lil one on his hip all domestic, iâll give you head

Iâd love to see your take on Penguin & Shachi reacting to their love interest seeing their full faces (no hats/sunglasses) for the first time!
Especially if the LIâs knee-jerk reaction is a lot more positive than they were expecting⊠( ĂČÏĂł)âš I love seeing these boys flustered lol đ§đŹđ
Here you go, finally! Sorry this took so long, life just came at me and I had to put things on the back burner, but I finally got this done! I hope you enjoy it! :)
Penguin
âEyes like crystal clear water, omg.â
Penguin still canât get that comment out of his head, it makes his face burn and his heart race to remember you saying that the other day. His hat had flown off and nearly been stolen by the wind, you had been walking through torn with him on an island you stopped at, running to get his hat for him when it flew away. He tried to tell you he had it, heâd get his own hat back but you ran ahead of him and caught it before it flew into the sea. You were happy to get it in time, as Penguin caught up with you and thanked you for catching his hat you gave him a smile that went away into shock seeing his face clearly for once in your life.
At first Penguin believed you thought he was ugly, just from how your face looked, eyes wide and mouth slightly parted like you didnât know what to say. It took a moment for you to realize you were staring, as Penguin took his hat back quickly and put it on right away, apologizing for bothering you and delaying your job to go buy stock for the ship. He turned away and started to talk again, you just watched and couldnât believe how pretty he was underneath the hat. Why did he wear it all the time when he looked like that?!
He was so handsome! You could always see just a bit of dark hair from the edge of his hat, it looked soft to you and made you want to run your fingers through it.
But his eyes, that was what got to you. You didnât think youâd ever seen such clear, beautiful blue eyes before in your life.
âYour eyesâŠâ
Penguin doesnât stop, just keeps walking as you try to catch up with him and he doesnât look you at your face. When you catch up, you take his hand and lace your fingers with his, he still doesnât look at you, his feet are more interesting at the moment.
âTheyâre like crystal clear water, omg.â
It made him so happy, he keeps replaying it over in his mind and every time you give him a smile, or press a kiss to his cheek, Penguin canât help the blush that covers his face each time. You arenât together, not yet at least, but he feels like youâll get there sooner rather than later at this rate. Heâs planning to ask you out tonight, for another day, after getting Lawâs permission so long as neither of you lets it interfere with your work or chores on the ship.
He's about to knock on the door to the room you share with Ikkaku when he hears you nearly shout.
âHow could he ever think that about himself?! Heâs soâŠso pretty!â
Ikkaku laughs at your reaction, Penguin listens and feels his face heating up worse than before. Youâre still calling him pretty, no one has ever said that about him before, he canât believe its you who is saying that now. Heâs likes you for so long that hearing you say such things makes his heart race and his palms sweat.
âI guess no one has ever seen under his hat long enough to give him those compliments. Heâs good at keeping it on.â
âHe looks so good, his eyes are so beautifulâŠdo you think heâd finally go out with me if I asked??â
âWho knows~â
Finally?!
Penguin honestly had no clue you had feelings for him before you even saw him without his hat, heâs totally floored and has to go back to his room immediately before he starts shouting that he wants to go out with you too and everyone ends up hearing about it. Heâll ask you tomorrow when its just the two of you, if you donât get to him first that is.
Shachi
Shachi wonders why you stare at him so much, it weirds him out sometimes. Ever since you joined the Heart Pirates, youâve been oddly drawn to him and wanting to spend most of your free time helping him around the ship or relaxing nearby. He thinks its strange, no one has ever really wanted to be so close to him, whether another crew member or a girl he found attractive in a bar, youâre the first person to almost stick to him like glue since Penguin first did when they were children.
You know it looks weird, how much you stare at Shachi, but its only because youâre so desperate to see what he looks like without his hat and sunglasses. Yes, youâve seen him without his hat a few times when your crew has stopped for a beach day or heâs coming out of the showerâyou really love how he looks with wet hair, Ikkaku thinks youâre crazy for itâbut youâve never seen him without those sunglasses on. You asked Law once if Shachi simply had bad eyesight, but he just rolled his eyes and said no, didnât elaborate and you wonder if he thought you were stupid or something for the question.
Youâre determined to see what his eyes look like, even if you have to tackle him to the ground and snatch his sunglasses away to see them, even as Penguin tries to convince you thatâs a bad idea and maybe you should just ask to see what his eyes look like but you think thatâs a boring way to find out. You make several attempts though, trying to catch him after a bath or first thing in the morning, but every time he still has them on, its so frustrating! Shachi doesnât seem to even understand what youâre doing, heâs glad to greet you each morning and doesnât think too much of it when you see him after a bath, even if he finds that odd at first, it makes his feelings for grow a little more each time, he believes you probably feel the same way for him because of it.
So after he talks to Law about it, Shachi asks you out a few days later and you make a request before you answer.
âI want to see you without your sunglasses first.â
âWhaâŠwhat? Why? You donâtââ
âIâd rather you not wear them or your hat when we go out, soâŠâ
Maybe thatâs a lie, but Shachi doesnât know that, he also doesnât know at this moment how deep your feelings for him are, that you watching him so closely was also because you like him more than you originally thought you would. Youâre fairly certain your feelings wonât change after seeing him without his sunglasses, but Shachi isnât sure youâll like him if you do, heâs always worried about that when heâs thought of starting a relationship with anyone.
But after a few minutes of debating with himself, Shachi takes a breath, before nodding and removing his hat then his sunglasses, glancing away to not see your immediate reaction even when he hears you gasp lightly.
He thinks you arenât interested anymore, since youâre quiet before you make him look at you and heâs surprised by the blush on your face and how you look him square in the eye.
âHell yeah I did, weâre definitely going on a date and youâre coming back to my room with me afterwards. Ikkaku can sleep in the bunks with the rest of the crew.â
Shachi feels like heâs going to combust the rest of the day.

You donât know how to handle it when Kyojuro is brought in from his latest mission at deathâs door and bleeding profusely. Really you shouldnât be doing anything to help but with so few hands youâre the one directing the Kakushi and Aoi on what to do, keeping the younger girls away from where youâre working as you try to stop the bleeding and sew up the gaping hole through his stomach. Thereâs no salvaging his eye, you hate that and know this marks the end of his time as a Hashira and slayer in general, but the most pressing matter is keeping him alive.
How heâs still alive you donât know or understand, you pray through it as you fight back tears and through the nausea that the bloody scent is causing. When you heard there had been a severe injury you assumed it was Tanjiro and that heâd broken ribs again or lost a limb perhaps, nothing would surprise you with that boy, but the second you heard it was Kyojuro you rushed to be there to help. Giyuu is away on a mission himself, youâre sure heâs going to hear about it and hope he finishes his mission and quickly returns, if for nothing else than your own peace of mind after all of this.
Its hours before Shinobu returns and helps you, another several before youâre both certain Kyojuro is stable and should pull through after rest, heavily sedating him to keep him from waking in pain and potentially tearing the numerous stitches youâve done to keep him from bleeding out. Part of you donât want to leave his side and ensure he keeps breathing, you stay there through the night, a constant back and forth of dozing off and praying and checking if his bandages need to be changed.
Losing someone that was so kind and sweet to you, once again, wouldâve broken you two years ago, youâre sure of that.
Donât die, Kyojuro. Please. Giyuu and I want you to meet our childâŠ
Eventually, someone sets their hand on your shoulder, causing you to look up at Shinobu, giving you a soft smile as she nods for you to follow her out of the room. Youâve done enough to help Kyojuro, all you can do now is let him rest and she doesnât want you to lose sleep. You need to go rest yourself, for you and your baby, sheâs sure Giyuu wonât want to hear youâve fainted again when he returns.
You follow her out and to her office, Shinobu says she just wants to do a quick check up on you to make sure you and the baby are doing okay after the day youâve had. She makes it quick because she wants you to go home and sleep, but the look on your face and the way you keep glancing towards the door like someone is about to run in with terrible news makes her stop for a second.
âRengoku-san will be all right. Heâs stable.â
âI knowâŠâ
ââŠTomioka-san will be okay too.â
You clench your jaw but nod, even when you grip the sides of the chair youâre seated in. You know Giyuu is strong, that was the main reason you asked him to teach you how to use a sword. Youâd seen him training with the others and thought he was amazing to watch, you know heâs strong enough to protect himself, you, and your child, and anyone else that needs saving.
But it still scares you, especially after whatâs happened with Kyojuro, to know that at any moment you could get a letter or a visit from someone that he's been killed by a demon. You donât think this fear will leave until Muzan has been defeated, but who knows how much longer that will take? Youâll be kept awake at night when heâs gone just praying for Giyuu to return in one piece and alive, you donât want to have to explain to your child one day why their father isnât around.
Shinobu notices how quiet you get, as she finished your check up and sees nothing wrong or anything to be concerned about. She figures you must be getting lost in your thoughts after everything thatâs happened, or perhaps you really do need to go home and rest, maybe for a few days instead of just the night.
âOkay, everything looks good to me,â she gives you a smile as you nod, patting your shoulder, âWhy donât you take some time off? I think a break would do you some good.â
ââŠI think thatâs a good ideaâŠâ
When you finally get home, the sun is about to come back up, but you canât find it in you to sleep quite yet. You have to send a letter to Giyuu, hoping heâll get one back to you as soon as he can, you just need some reassurance that heâs all right. You havenât heard otherwise, but youâre so shaken up from Kyojuro and his injuries that you just feel nothing but fear and worry since he isnât home with you.
As soon as your letter is finished, you didnât bother to proof it or anything, you sent it off with the crow that Giyuu told you to use if you needed him. You feel a bit better when you lay down, a little more relaxed but still anxious. Youâre sure Shinobu meant a couple days for you to take off, but you might need more time than that, youâre sure sheâll understand.
Giyuu,
I know youâre busy but I just need to write to you. KyojuroâŠwe almost lost him to a demon, I heard it was an Upper Rank. His injuries were so bad, we couldnât save his eye and it took so many stitches to close up the wound on his stomach, there was so much blood and we needed even more for a transfusion. Heâs stable. He probably wonât wake up for weeks now.
Iâm terrified youâre next, even though I know youâre strong. I know you can handle anything thrown at you, maybe its just my hormones.
Please, come back quickly. I donât want to lose you. I love you, I hope your mission goes well.
+!+
Its another two weeks before Kyojuro wakes up, youâre relieved to hear when he does, almost running to go see him and being grateful that your hours of work to stabilize him and stop the bleeding werenât in vain. He struggles to speak but gives a grin to all of you that check on him, you give him a hug as you try not to cry, telling him youâre glad heâs okay and still here. Tanjiro and Inosuke are almost blubbering messes when they make it there, Zenitsu less so but still teary himself. After theyâve all been calmed down and reassured that Kyojuro is fine, you take the three boys to your office to talk to them.
âHeâll be all right,â you take a breath and smile at the boys, Tanjiro returns it as Zenitsu and Inosuke look at you curiously, âItâs going to take some rehabilitation before heâs good to go in general, butâŠI donâtâŠthink he can fight anymoreâŠâ
It seems like they all knew that already, even as Tanjiroâs face falls and he looks down. Truthfully they were all surprised he was even still alive as the Kakushi rushed him here, you were too after seeing the extent of his injuries. You had a small bit of hope that heâd be able to get back on the field and fight again, but after more tests while he was unconscious, neither you nor Shinobu believes thatâs possible anymore.
âYou all did your best and kept him alive,â Tanjiro bows his head to you, it makes you smile sadly this time, âIâm sure heâs as grateful as we all are.â
âIâm just glad heâs still here. Shinobu was worried about me after how long it took to get him stable, but weâre okay too, obviously. I was more concerned with Kyojuro being okay.â
âIâm glad youâre doing okay too.â
You smile a bit as you thank Tanjiro, looking to the other two boys who seem very confused by how well the two of you know each other. When they were here last, you didnât do much for either of them, you had other things to do and mostly checked on Tanjiro while he slept, sometimes Zenitsu to make sure he was taking his medicine, but Inosuke didnât need much at all from you. Then you didnât have anything to do with their rehabilitation training, Giyuu wanted you to take it easy and you were fine with that, doing your normal work and chores around the Butterfly Mansion, while listening in to make sure the three were recovering well.
âIts good to see youâre all doing well, even after everything thatâs happened.â
Tanjiro thanks you again for your work even as you wave him off with a smile, before he turns to Inosuke and Zenitsu.
âYup,â you grin with a nod, âWeâre having a baby soon too.â
âThisâŠthis is a joke right?â
âSo youâre not just fat?â
âInosuke!â
Tanjiro tries to convince Zenitsu that its not a joke, you really are engaged to Giyuu and pregnant, and attempts to make Inosuke apologize to you, it actually does make you laugh while watching them. They havenât known each other more than a couple months but the way they act is almost like brothers, like theyâve known each other their entire lives now. They act like brothers, it reminds you of some of the boys from your home village and their siblings, sometimes you wonder what it wouldâve been like to have your own siblings when you see others.
But after how you lost your family, youâre glad you didnât have any younger brothers or sisters, you donât think you wouldâve been able to handle losing them too, or having to help them through such a tragedy on top of getting yourself through it.
Before Tanjiro says anything else, you laugh again and shake your head, giving the three a smile.
âSettle down, its fine. Iâm not offended,â Tanjiro sighs even when Zenitsu and Inosuke do apologize a bit, you just wave them off, âNo worries, boys. If you want to make it up to me though, you can join me for dinner. Bring Nezuko too, I donât mind.â
âBut wonât Giyuu-sanââ
âHeâsâŠstill on a missionâŠso he wonât mind, itâll be at my home anyway.â
All three of them agree, you give them a time and plan to leave soon yourself anyway, you need to get some ingredients to cook for them and prepare. At least this dinner will be no pressure, since the trip know about your relationship and pregnancy now as well. Nothing like when Giyuu told the Hashira the other day and you heard some Shinobu that not everyone was happy about it, which you expected and werenât surprised by when you heard.
You donât care about it too much and arenât worried anymore, nothing else matters right now except Giyuu coming home safely and getting to the end of your pregnancy easily. Maybe Giyuu will be able to take a longer break from missions after he gets back, you hope he does so your worries about him being gone settle for a few days at least.
Though, after everything with Kyojuro, youâre probably going to be worried for a while, nothing is likely to change that for now.

The air around your home feels a little lighter that evening, relief that Kyojuro is alive is all you feel, even though youâre still waiting for Giyuu to return. Youâre simply glad that Kyojuro woke up and is fine, he was able to speak a little better as the day went on, Tanjiro said heâd  go back after your dinner together send for you if anything came up, but youâre sure nothing will go wrong overnight.
Your dinner with Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke went well, it was calm and the boys all seemed to enjoy your cooking well enough to ask if they can come back another night. You agreed, expecting Giyuu to be less then enthused when he hears, but you know heâll get over it when he realizes how happy it makes you to have them around. Itâs like your own little family already, you think they might act like uncles or older brothers to your baby once theyâre born.
Nezuko was happy to be there too, she stayed attached to you most of the time, even trying to see if she could feel your baby moving even though you havenât noticed much of anything yet. You think youâve felt them move a little, just a few tiny flutters here and there, but nothing that if someone put their hand on your belly theyâd feel too. Youâre actually glad for that, only because you want Giyuu there to feel it when the baby does finally kick for the first time.
For now, youâre busy with the last bit of chores before you turn in for the night. Dishes have been cleaned and put away, the sparse leftovers will be your lunch for tomorrow most likely, laundry was brought it hours ago and out up, all thatâs left is the sweeping youâre finishing on your front porch. Itâs still light out, youâre not worried about any demons coming out yet but even if they did, your home is close to Sanemiâs and heâs already on alert of you need anything while Giyuu is gone.
Youâve been a little worried every day that goes by without a letter from Giyuu to confirm heâs safe and just still on his mission, itâs the only thing youâve been hoping for lately but nothing has come through.
Though, when you catch someone approaching your home from the corner of your eye, and quickly snap your head back in that direction when you see its Giyuu, youâre instantly relieved and almost frozen in place. He looks tired and a little beat up, it is a bit late for him to go to the Butterfly Mansion, but heâs alive. You didnât expect to see him today, or even this week, so the fact heâs back even without a reply to your letter has you almost in tears seeing him walking towards your home.
You arenât sure if he notices you at first or not, it doesnât matter really. Youâre quick to throw your broom down and run to meet him halfway, shouting his name enough to get Giyuu to look up at you, just in time for you to throw your arms around him and hug him so tightly. Giyuu is surprised by your hug, only because this time you seem almost desperate about it, like you werenât sure heâd come back to you or maybe somethingâs wrong and you havenât told him yet. His surprise turns to worry when he realizes youâre crying, hearing you sob into his chest as he wraps his arms around you in return. Â
âHey, whatâs wrââ
âYou didnât reply to me!! IâŠI got so scared!â you grip his haori tightly, Giyuu starts to stroke your hair as you speak, âIâŠafter Kyojuro came in almost deadâŠI was worried for youâŠ! AndâŠand you didnâtâŠdidnât reply!!â
He doesnât say anything, just keeps hugging you as you cry into his chest, letting your emotions youâve let build up over the last couple weeks out. Giyuu wonât stop you, heâs fine to let you continue and get out everything you need to, he feels bad that he left you to hold all this on your own while he was gone, even though it isnât his fault. Heâd gone on his mission the day after Kyojuro had left for his, he heard as soon as it all happened that Kyojuro had been taken to the Butterfly Mansion on deathâs door, relieved to hear heâd made it through thanks to you and Shinobu. Then he got your letter and had every intention to reply, but his mission took its own turn and it slipped his mind to even go back and write to you in return.
You mustâve been so worried when you didnât heard anything back from him, Giyuu really does feel terrible for leaving you hanging like that the last couple weeks. He really had meant to reply, he didnât ignore you on purpose at all.
But maybe he shouldâve tried harder to take the time to respond, only so you werenât as worried as you obviously have been. You didnât need that stress right now.
ââŠIâm sorry, I didnât mean to worry you so much.â
Shaking your head a little, Giyuu strokes your hair as you start to settle down, taking a few breaths before you lean back just enough to look up at him with a small smile.
âItâs okayâŠyouâre home now. I missed you.â
Giyuu returns your smile and sentiments, pressing a kiss to your forehead as you hug him with less desperation this time and he continues to hug you back. You feel like youâre really able to relax now, since Giyuu is back and safe with you again, you can breathe easy and will be able to sleep well tonight with him by your side.
Giyuu almost says something, but you quickly pull back and look to your stomach, eyes wide as you look back up to him.
ââŠdid you feel that?â
ââŠno?â His brow furrows a bit, watching you look back to your stomach as he holds onto your arms gently, âWhat did youââ
