[ VII ] - The ninja patiently listens to the star god explain to them the functions of their world, giving off small, tiny pings as they do. When they take out the small jar of starbits, though, they blink–they looked AWFULLY similar to candy.
Hm. Note to self: Future offerings must be sweets of some level.
…So anything outside of the bubble of the Isle of Stars was NOT safe. Brand had no intention of even attempting to venture out into such dangerous lands, but it was nice to know anyway.
He waits until Mailune was more or less finished speaking before doing so himself. “…Dragons are powerful and mighty creatures. I am not surprised that one has such power to devour all in it’s sight.” Nor was he at the star god apparently snacking on stars…
“Do not worry–your night isle seems to be much too comforting to leave for the scorching lights of day.”
“I would not mind returning here if I am permitted to do so. It can get quite chaotic back in our own household, so a bit of peace and quiet once in a while is very promising.” …He could even try to understand the night better, and with that understanding…maybe understand his student a little better too.
It wouldn’t hurt to try.
“Perhaps in exchange for some services of some kind?” He mentioned monster attacks. Maybe he can lend a blade or both now and again.
Mailu was vaguely aware of the weird sound. They couldn’t figure out what it was- and after they finished speaking, quickly looked around as though trying to pinpoint the source. Wot. They tilted their head just slightly over, frowning.
“Mhm, the dragon is really difficult to deal with. Sometimes me and Anita have to team up just to have a fighting chance. It just makes me a little sad knowing that sometimes a lot of people get hurt because of it.” Mailune shook their head.
They paused, then glanced over, grinning. “Yeah! Of course!!! You’re really really nice- sooo, you can come back whenever you want!” The god chirped, shoving a hand into one of their hairbuns. They were quiet for a moment, before taking out something.
It was a bracelet. It was very simple in design- just a white string with two little white charms hanging off it. A star, and a crescent moon. Holding it lightly- Mailune just held it tighter in their palm for a second.
When they opened their palm again- The string was a dark crimson, with an accent of shimmering gold barely visible, spiraling around it. The charms were also gold as well.
“Here!” They offered the bracelet to Brandish. “If you wanna come here- just hold the star and close your eyes! If you wanna leave- hold the moon and do the same.” They gave a small nod, mostly to themself. “But- maybe don’t leave in a dangerous place? Because- like... you’ll just go back to your last location when you leave.”
“You don’t gotta do anything right now- it’s alright! But I might ask you for help once in a while if I need it, if that’s okay...” Mailune gave a nervous smile.
