Weird Beauty by Alexander Khokhlov

Russian photographer Alexander Khokhlov teamed up with Russian make-up artist Valeryia Kutsan to create a photography series, which rebels against the standards of beauty. By painting sharp geometric black and white figures and patterns on women’s faces, both the artists are using their subjects as canvases for art, instead of tools of expected beautification and exaggerated illusions. The black backdrop intensifies the optical illusions as the human faces become unrecognizable.
