To say that things had been going well for you these last few days would be a complete lie. Quite frankly, things had been shit. All you were trying to do was talk, tell someone something, or even just message someoneโbut of course people all week kept talking over you or showing no interest in what you had to say at all. And sure, this was such a small issue compared to so many other things, no one had even been mean, or even went on to say shut up. Though that didnโt change anything, because to you, it had still hurt.
This week, every time you had a talk with someone, it seemed like the conversation was instantly over because no one seemed to be listening, the subject was changed, or you were completely ignored altogether. Texts had been left on read, or a simple โmhm..โ was given when speaking directly to someone. So by time the week was over, you found yourself to be talking less and less to peopleโฆbecause what was the point?
And sure, maybe others hadnโt noticedโฆbut he did. He always did, when it came to you. At first, he noticed, because you seemed quiet when the two of you were with friends, then when he messaged you during the week, something seemed offโlike you were trying to be yourself but you justโฆwerenโt.
So, you ended up in Deanโs bedโhe was at practice, like the rest of the guys were, but Dean never minded you being there when he was at practice, because it always meant he got to come back to youโso how could he deny that?
Though what you donโt notice is when everyone gets back, and Dean makes his way upstairs, and stands in the doorway, too busy scrolling mindlessly on TikTok.
โPrincess?โ He says, causing you to look up, slightly startled. โWhat happened?โ
You shake your head, not wanting to burden him, feeling like you had already done that enough this week with everyone else. So you just give him a simple answer. โNothing.โ And of course, that draws an eyebrow raise from him.
โโฆNothing?โ
You just shrug, before you answer. This time, your voice getting a little quieter. โItโs stupidโฆโ And immediately, heโs dropping his bag onto the floor, walking over and sitting down next to you, as you set down your phone. โBaby, nothing you tell me is stupidโespecially if youโre upsetโฆโ
You sigh, starting to toy with your fingers, and Dean comfortingly laid his hand on your shoulder, comfortingly starting to rub itโฆand thatโs all it took, before tears formed in your eyes and the words spilled out. From how people were interrupting you, to how nobody seemed interested in what you had to text them or say to them, and how you had been talked over.
And gosh, it felt stupid to even be upset about something so little, but to Dean? It wasnโt stupid. In fact, he listened to you the entire time, didnโt check his phone, space out, or interrupt you, or even try to solve things. No, he simply just listened to you, the entire timeโฆWhich was really all you needed.
And when you finally finished speaking, a small frown was on his lipsโconfused as to how you could think something like being unheard was a stupid thing?

Though he just shook his head, and you softly played with your fingers again, before continuing. โI dunnoโฆguess it just feels like people donโt care what I have to say,โ And oh, that hurts him, because he hates that anyone could ever make you feel this way.
โOh, babyโฆโ He softly says, before softly tugging you closer, so that your head was in his lap but facing him. โI care. I care about every little thing you tell me. If itโs about an earring, or the most bizarre thing in the world. Mโalways gonna care.โ That gets a tiny smile from your lips. โEvery little thing?โ You softly ask, holding back a giggle.
โEvery. Little. Thing.โ
โWhat if itโs 2 am?โ โIโll listenโ
โEven my love island rants?โฆโ You trail off, a smiles still on your lips and he nods. โEven the love island rants, baby.โ And now you can't help but let your smile grow, which makes his grow too.
โThere she isโฆMissed your smileโ
โOh stop itโฆโ You softly mumble, heat rising to your cheeks, but he just leans down and gives you a soft peck on the lips.
โNow...Iโm free for the night, so Iโm all yours.โ
โYeah?โ You smile, sitting up, and he nods. โYepโdonโt care if you just want to cuddle, eat dinner together, watch a movie, or if you just want to ramble.โ And with those words, the hell of the week faded away from you, and you knew that no matter what else happened, you would be okay, as long as you had him.
