i miss my dork parents so much
Just being with her, looking into her eyes, everything that seemed so complicated becomes simple. And then I just know.

excuse me while i go all english teacher film analysis on this scene because i need to before i explode with feelings
the fact that it's played out in total silence. no music, no sound effects, nothing but three words that frame it. it's so simple and real, like he just knows. there's no magic moment, no aha, no chimes, it just is. like when he realised he was in over his head after their first (real) kiss, like when he decided he wanted to propose
the framing. i could write an essay. the long shot of amy, with the long shot of jake but framed with amy in front of it. it's about her. it's for her. it's always been for her and he'd move mountains for her.
the words. i already talked about the silence but the simplicity of "honestly...it wasn't." no further explanation needed. she makes everything simple for him and he doesn't need to embellish. these are the last words he speaks about her too and it's just simple. real. unadorned
the faces. the heart eyes. who needs words. enough said
they placement of the desks. she used to be directly across from him and they'd catch eyes or banter. now they're across the room and she looks up and she just knows.
so yeah i love them and miss them and this scene was just the perfect understated and yet uniquely jake and amy way to say goodbye to them
