"The difference between Suho and Baku is that Baku wanted to protect the whole school, while Suho did everything for Sieun"
-Director-nim of WHC1 and WHC2
is this not how the scene went?
I think the romance with Hans feels the most satisfying because no matter what you do and who you romance, he keeps being framed by the narrative as the most important person in Henry's life right now.
Because when dead Istvan is teasing Henry in his dreams says:
"So, who are you going to sacrifice for your conscience next? Your little Jew brother? Capon? Yourself?"
And when Sam is urging Henry to leave without him he says:
"Everyone is counting on you. Godwin, Žižka, Capon..."
All those statements are mentioning Hans as last, like someone who is the most meaningful, putting emphasis on him.
Not to mention that during the fight Erik is really putting some parallels between his relationship with Istvan with Henry's relationship with Hans when he taunts Henry with:
"After I get through with you I'll find that shit Capon and kill him too!"
Also no matter who you romance, if you chose that Henry tells his parents in the end that he chose the path of adventure he again just talks about Hans.
And also there is so many moments when Henry will just bring up Hans whether you want it or not, like when he's travelling to Kuttenberg, talking to Rosa, seeing destroyed village, diving in shit...
You can try to be mean to Hans as much as you wish but you cannot erase his importance in Henry's life and the fact that Henry cares about him whether you romance him or not.
gaining rep with hans every time you insult him in kcd1 is crazy actually. I wanted to be mean to him but it turns out he just gets off on that
"I do sorta like it when hes rude to me... Hopefully thats more of a psychological defect then a weird sexual thing."
everyone else when hans decides to name his son and heir after his close personal friend and bodyguard
I’ll be back. I promise you. And everything will be alright.
Idk how it didn't hit me sooner
Hansry is a demisexual dream ship
No fucking wonder they give me more butterflies than any ship or even any of my irl crushes that have never led to anything
Like they're hot and have chemistry, sure, I'd probably ship it anyway but like..they just have it all, they actually shipped and I'm just in love with them
They're exactly what I want to have (minus the war, PTSD and fear of being exiled or hanged or some shit)
I should have done it month ago, but here it is, as it never will not be funny to me :)
like, okay, i'm sure this scene has been talked about and dissected to pieces already in this fandom but. BUT. i need to put my two cents in or i will explode.
so, your lord and best friend has just admitted to you that if you die, he will be so beside himself with grief that he might just die too.
the game then gives you THIS option in response.
and you, the player, know how video games work. you know this is the press x for romance button. you expect henry to admit his feelings—a culmination of all the hints he's dropped from the heart options we've chosen before—and kiss him as soon as the button's been pressed.
except henry doesn't kiss hans.
instead, henry places his hand on hans' hand. it's the first moment of physical contact between them in the whole scene...but it's not a kiss. it's gentle. it's intimate. it's tiptoeing the line between comforting a friend and something more...
...but henry leaves it at that. and he gets up and goes to leave.
and in that moment of panic. in that split second of 'this might be the last time i'll ever see you again, please don't go' — it's hans that kisses henry.
and it's henry who pushes hans away.
this is—for all intents and purposes—the opposite of what we, the player, chose.
and to add insult to injury, henry looks conflicted.
he looks SO conflicted that hans believes he's fucked up royally.
that he has completely tarnished their final moments together by acting on impulse—by giving into temptation and desperation and feelings he can't even put into his own words—and henry must be disgusted by him.
and hans believes this because he watches henry turn his back to him. refusing to look at him. and head for the door.
but henry stops before he opens it. and i keep thinking back to the heart option we chose.
the player is not making the choice for henry to kiss hans. we are not forcing his hand.
the player is reminding henry what he's been telling himself throughout the entire game.
don't run away, henry.
kiss him. kiss him back.
so henry does.
“We absolutely adore each other. Last night, for example, we were at the London premiere. And I was a bit tired. And I needed a break from all the...the chaos of everything. So I found a small room, and there was a piano in it. I just went and, to calm myself down. I try and just play some music. I played for about five minutes. Just playing away. And then I turn to my right, and Henry was just sitting there. He’d snuck in and was just listening.” - Joey Batey

Pet peeve: When half of a popular queer ship is confirmed as queer but the ship still doesn’t happen. You know, when the dynamic is so gay that the only explanation for their relationship being solely platonic is their heterosexuality … which now doesn’t exist so nothing makes sense.
Exhibit A: Jaskier being confirmed as bi a few seasons into The Witcher but I’m supposed to believe his relationship with Geralt was totally platonic and their entire passive aggressive homoerotic pining-across-decades dynamic was just buddies being buddies, actually?
Exhibit B: Despite Tim Drake and Kon-El having the gayest, most devoted, most ride-or-die dynamic in the world for years (not to mention Kon dressing like that in the 90s), Tim is confirmed as bi but I’m supposed to believe he doesn’t have a thing for Kon? LIES. And then Jon Kent is aged up and turned into the token bisexual superfam member, who also is just friends with his batfam bestie. DC Comics being cowards as usual.
Exhibit C: Dare I even mention the queerbaiting of Supernatural and the Destiel confession scene… turns out Cas probably has romantic feelings for Dean and then he just fucking dies… Homophobia? On MY CW network? Nooo
Can’t think of more at the moment but feel free to add. I KNOW I’m not the only one bothered by this
Please don't go where I can't follow
