Dish duty. He was stuck with dish duty. Travis scowled, staring at the blasted sink filled to the brim with lava, the pair of special gloves for cleaning the dishes sitting innocently beside it. The lava bubbled and a couple of the resulting sparks set the end of his shirt on fire. He yelped, desperately scrambling to put out the flame before he turned into Crispy Travis Delight.

‘Let’s start a food fight!’ Connor had said.

'It’ll be fun!’ He said.

'See you later, loser!’ He said.

Well. Travis says his brother is dead. D-E-A-D. 

“Framed by my own brother…” Travis muttered, getting to work with the dishes, already running through ideas on how to get back at his younger brother.

Honestly, Travis didn’t know whether he was angry at being stuck doing the dishes alone or just disappointed that his brother, his brother from the same mother, had abandoned him on The Job.

(The Job being, of course, whatever scheme they were currently wrapped up with.)

They did everything together: provoking Clarisse and getting electrocuted with Lamer (Oh, sorry. Maimer.), hijacking the camp van, running away from Percy in terror after he finds his cabin filled to the brim with seaweed, running away from Annabeth in terror after she finds a rubber spider in her bed, and not to mention running away from Nico in terror after being caught decorating the Hades cabin with garlic and telling the younger campers that he’s a vampire…

(He sighed at the memories. Good times, good times.)

They were brothers-in-crime. This pranking-each-other business was scandalous! He just had to get revenge.

Travis reached for the next dish before realizing there weren’t any left. He blinked in surprise. Time sure went by quick when you were scheming. Then his lips turned up into the most dangerous and mischievous of smiles - the kind of smile that you turn and run the Hades away from.

Because Travis had a plan. A plan for revenge. And it would be a most pleasing revenge, indeed. Connor would be sorry he ever turned on his beloved wiser older brother.

Travis swiftly removed the lava-proof gloves. “No time like the present!” he announced to the empty kitchen and scampered off to secure a victory.

I know this is late but I’m still sending one. I’m giving up two of my prized “possessioned” original characters. I had so much fun playing them and all. But ever since the RP started dying out and I had to go to Uni, I realized that it’s time to move on. I’d like to thank the RP for all the plots and the conversations I had with all of you. You made me grow not just as a writer, but also as a person. And ever since cliques started, I didn’t feel like I belonged anymore. Nobody talked to my characters and that made me sad. So yeah, thank you.

Brief history or personality description of your character (if OC): 

Born in Canada on a coastal town she easily found a love of the water. She signed up for every swimming class and joined the swimming team as soon as she was able. That was cut short when her mother’s job forced them to move to the USA. Her mother convinced her that there was no time for those ‘tedious’ clubs and so she quit her swimming team.

Lynn’s mother was a nice woman but when Poseidon left she became uncaring toward Lynn. Lynn’s Aunt Sam visited often and was there for her when her mother wasn’t. When she was 10 Sam moved next door with her husband. Lynn mostly stayed there. 

She is a very stubborn girl who doesn’t cower at a challenge. Her loyalty gets her into tough places. She is very talkative the only exception to this is when she is in deep thought. Lynn has a tendency to think of large philosophical ideas in her spare time. Despite this however, she has terrible grades. Her anger is something to take seriously as she is usually a calm person. When she is fuming she is terrifying. She has very expressive eyes that can ensnare.

A sharp pain shoots up from her shoulder. Lynn can tell that the skin is broken and she can feel blood begin to trickle from the new wound. Her teeth ground together as she attempts to hold back tears. 

She is pinned to the ground by her teacher who now looks more like a bat than human. Her talons stick into Lynn’s shoulder. Lynn groan and struggles underneath her. Thankfully her kicking loosens the hold on her. With a strong punch to her teacher’s neck Lynn is worming out of reach. 

Wide eyed and terrified she manages to scramble to her feet. Behind her a loud hiss sounds from the monster. Lynn slams the door and begins running. She doesn’t know where, she only runs. Her heart slams against her ribs. Hard enough to bruise. And her eyes flicker to and fro, looking for some where to hide. No luck. 

“Come back!” She hears another hiss. This time closer. 

Ahead of her Lynn sees the exit. By now her knees are weak and her throat aching. She pushes open the door and the sun overwhelms her eyes. She squints, pushing through the burning in her eyes she head away fro her school and into the busy city. 

Lynn bumps into people bustling past her and she winces. She looks over her shoulder every chance she gets and weaves in and out of crowds to try and hide herself. It ultimately doesn’t work and she can’t lose the monster trailing her. If she didn’t lose it soon she may have to face it. That thought alone keeps her going.

Soon the sun start it’s decent to the horizon and Lynn begins to panic. She can’t go home or her mom and aunt could be in danger. There is no where to hide. 

That is when her phone rings loudly in her pocket. She fishes it out and looks at the caller ID. Aunt Sam. She breaths out a sigh of relief and answers.

“Lynn Carmen Mathews! Where on earth are you? You were due home over an hour ago and I’ve received no text about other plans.”

“A-aunty, I-I am in trouble,” Lynn swallows the tears that threaten to show in voice.

“What do you mean?” Her tone immediately turns serious.

“I am being followed. My teacher, Mrs. Adams, she just- it was- she turned into something… not human,” she glances over her shoulder, checking for Mrs. Adams.

“Honey, I need you to stay perfectly calm right now. I am going to tell you something important and you are going to stay very calm. Do you understand?“ 

"Yes,” Her voice shakes.

“There is a place that your father told me about. A place where monsters like Mrs. Adams can’t get to you. You’ll be safe,” She pauses for a moment. “Your father is a god, Lynn. I am not spinning lies. The reason why monsters are after you is because you are your father’s child.”

“I-I don’t understand. My father is dead,” she chokes on her words.

“No, he isn’t. Your mother told you that to protect you.”

Lynn pushes down all the questions that try to force themselves out and asks the question that needs to be asked. “Where is that place?”

“It’s called Camp Half-Blood. You are going to have to hail a taxi and tell them to the exact place I tell you okay? You’ll need to write it down.”

Lynn writes the address on her palm and takes out her wallet. 

“I don’t know if I’ll have enough money.”

“You have your mother’s credit card don’t you?”

“Y-yeah but thats for groceries.”

“Use it Lynn. Groceries are the least of your concern right now.”

Lynn feels something wet slide down her cheek. “Will I ever see you again?”

“I don’t know honey.”

Her heart tears. The truth in those words strengthens her fear of what was to happen to her. 

“I love you. See you later.” She smiles at the phone before hanging up.

She’s walked to a street with taxis almost everywhere. She smiles. Getting a taxi will be easier than she thought. 

She slips into the taxi she fought a business man for and sighs. 

“This address please.” She shows the cab driver her hand and he grunts in acknowledgement. 

Lynn slumps back into her seat. She buckles in and cautiously pulls her shirt away from her aching skin. Underneath the cloth is 4 puncture marks that are caked under blood. She grimaces and places the shirt back. There is nothing she can do about it so she was going to have to deal with the constant stinging. 

She stares out the window absentmindedly. The city soon is gone and is replaced by highway and country. After what seems like a decade to Lynn the cab lunches to a stop. 

“Are you sure this is where you want to get out, kid?” The driver turns to her.

She nods and pays the driver handsomely. Lynn closes the door and then he’s gone. 

The sun is gone now and the sky is a deep dark navy blue. Out in the country some of the stars shine at her. Lynn looks up at the hill in front of her. There is a large pine tree sitting on top of it and it stands magnificently in the night. 

Lynn’s hairs stand on end and she spins around to face Mrs. Adams. Her breath catches in her throat and she backs away. Mrs. Adams stalks toward her. Lynn doesn’t cry out or make a noise she only bolts up the hill. She isn’t fast enough though. A crack fills the air and a burning sensation wraps around her ankle. This time a shout does escape as she is pulled back down the hill. 

Lynn looks down at her ankle which is smouldering beneath Mrs. Adams’ whip. She claws at her ankle trying to free it but it only manages to burn her hands. 

“Lynn Mathews,” she glowers down at me, “your father has broken his oath and now you shall pay for his mistake.”

Lynn glares at her with new found confidence. 

“I’d rather not.” She kicks at her assailants hand holding the whip. She succeeds in getting her to drop the weapon and it immediately uncoils from her blistery skin. 

Now adrenaline takes over her system and she rises, despite the pain shooting up from her ankle. She fiddles with her charm bracelet and heads up the hill again. A roar from Mrs. Adams and she knows she’s in for trouble if something doesn’t happen soon. That is when her charm brakes. The charm was from her father and was a beautiful sword with tiny engravings on the blade. She had always had the bracelet and it never got to small or came off. Her mother said it was a gift from her father to protect her. She didn’t get the meaning of her mothers word till now. 

In her hands is a bronze sword, exactly like the charm. She marvels at it for a moment before she hears another hiss. This one sounding different from her teachers. She turns to see another leathery old woman. They stride up the hill and Lynn points her sword at them warningly as she retreats. 

One of them pounces and thats enough for Lynn to react out of instinct. She swings the metal in her hand and it slices through the monster. When Lynn looks at where the old woman should be all she sees is golden dust blowing down the hill. 

Before the other monster can do anything Lynn is already sprinting up the slippery hill. She makes it to the top and collapses. Her ankle, under to much pressure gave out. She wasn’t safe just yet though. She could feel it. Yes she was on top of the hill, but she wasn’t past the tree. Lynn attempts to stand, but ends up of the grass. Mrs. Adams takes her time getting to her, knowing that will Lynn’s ankle like that it would be almost impossible for her to move. So Lynn tries another tactic. And she prays it’ll work.

“HELP! ANYONE PLEASE! HELP ME!” She screams at the top of her lungs.  

She crawls forward using only her arms. Her position doesn’t change almost at all. And so she tries again.

“PLEASE! SOMEBODY HELP!”

One more time she rises. She stays up for longer this time and so she takes a few steps in the direction of the tree. Lynn doesn’t get far because she is tackled to the ground by what she suspects is Mrs. Adams. Her head hits a rock jutting out of the grass and she cries out in pain. Her head throbs in agony and her vision blurs in and out of focus. All that she can see is her teacher’s monstrous face looming down on her.

She tries to raise her sword but she is to feeble. The creature laughs and pushes it away. Then something changes in Mrs. Adams’ expression. Something like panic and anger. Another wave of blurriness hits along with nausea and when her focus returns there is gold dust on her clothing. To her left a boy in a bright orange shirt stares down at her with wonder and beside him a blond haired girl with wise grey eyes.

Her vision sways back into darkness and she hears one thing from her saviours. “Percy get her inside. There are more monsters coming.”

Woah you weren’t kidding it is a long! But aww Lynn seems very sweet and child of Poseidon like. The whole charm bracelet is actually a sword was a very nice touch! My only little complaint is that it seems a bit like how Percy first gets to camp, but that might just be the whole evil teacher thing. But it’s very nice and she’s gonna fit in great at camp!!

This blog seems really cool and it's the first I've seen that's still running and not complete shit so I wanted to apply, I've read the FAQ but I couldn't see an answer to this so, can I be a child of Pan ? He doesn't have children normally and I don't want to have an overpowered character or anything so I'll let you decide (1/2)

(2/2) It's just that I have been obsessed with the idea of a teenager bitching about how ridiculous their powers are with the whole ''nature is dying'' thing, like they can't even make a tree grow without fainting and just bitching about Pan being a coward even for a goat, just, bitchy teenager with lousy powers

Hi! Aw thanks for that, we do try to keep things going best we can! There’s nothing strictly against it, I just think it might be a bit weird because in the books Pan sorta died, but I guess as long as the character was born before that moment it’s still plausible. Also, I can totally understand the want for a bitchy teenager they’re always the best fun! So yeah, go for it my dear!

Character’s name: Adaline Winter, Addie for short Novel Character or Original: Original Age: Became a Hunter of Artemis at 17 Godly Parent: Hecate Person being used to portray this character: Naomi Scott Description: Addie was born in New York City, where she would attend school during the year. Every summer, they would spend a month in their house in Pennsylvania, in the woods. She loved to explore the forest, and became close friends with all its creatures. When she was 12, a gorgon disguised as her teacher tried to attack her, but she was saved by her appointed satyr. From then, she stopped going to Pennsylvania and started going to Camp Half Blood during the summer, training her magic from her mother and learning to use a bow. When she was 17, she was home during the school year, but still at school when a monster attacked her family in search for her. When she came home, it almost killed her, but the Hunters of Artemis came and killed the creature. Seeing everyone she loved dead, Addie joined the hunters to help others not have to face the same fate. Sample: “My lady.” Addie nodded to Artemis as she passed by her on her way to the center of the camp. She sat down next to Thalia and Hannah by the fire, felling the night breeze ruffle her clothes. No one spoke, although Addie had something she desperately wanted to say. Thoughts of the lost hunter, the girl who had so recently joined, Gen, haunted all of their minds. Addie felt the guilt of another person lost begin to eat at her. /I could have done more,/ she thought. /If I’d done more, I could have saved her/. She said nothing. Thalia, the lieutenant, was always upset when the girls blamed themselves for another’s fall. She knew Thalia would deny it being her fault. “It wasn’t your fault, it was the monster’s. Don’t blame yourself for things out of your control.” Finally, she spoke up, wanting to vent, knowing her sisters would listen. “I should have shot faster.” Hannah began to protest, but Addie cut her off. “If I had just drawn my bow two seconds earlier, maybe…” She shook her head. “I don’t know what. I don’t know.” Silence filled the air, but the sound of the crackling fire. A while later, Addie rose to go to her tent, visions flashing through her mind. Sharp teeth tearing flesh, a young girl screaming. Gods, she didn’t know how she would sleep tonight.
