Interesting. I suppose we do not have national figures of significant influence, like Geert Wilders, handing out ‘defence spray’ to women to underline the message that we are responsible for the violence that harms our bodies, rather than holding men responsible for their actions.

I suppose we do not still have political parties argueing over a woman’s body and her reproductive rights proving that our bodies will always be political battlefields. They will never be ours.

I suppose transgender individuals and other members of the LGBTQIA community do not still face the daily threat of violence and verbal abuse by virtue of fucking existing.

I suppose people of all genders feel free to express themselves, free of fear. It is not like we tell people to ‘‘man up’‘, implying that all women are inherently weak. It is not like we impose societal constraints on men, women and non-binary individuals telling them they are capable or incapable of certain professions, telling them that somehow pieces of cloth indicate your gender, telling men that due to them being ‘sexual animals’ they are not real victims of sexual abuse

Take your awe-inspiring ignorance and bother someone else than my lovely friend with it.
