this might sound like a weird question but hear me out

does hp remember being mark? because theyre not Really the same person considering hp doesnt Really remember daisy, but they have the same body, so im curious. does hp have any of his memories before the fire/marks memories?

I think it'd take a second for him to recover his memories of mark/daisy -- they are still the same person imo just HP is dealing with, like, too much background noise yk? Tuning into his head people/animals etc to channel his powers twenty four sev meant that his actual memories were way in the background. So I guess he'd like, occasionally remember something but it was never his priority. I imagine when he gets his accessory back, it's Scary Quiet for a moment with all his head people/animals gone and Then he can start familiarizing himself with those old buried memories again. Like he doesn't remember daisy rn but he will eventually if he keeps his accessory on if that makes sense

i am terminally afflicted w AU Brain Disease so just curious to see how my perceptions differ from canon... was there actually like canon morello lore LOL like i know you said he had a kid (?) and he ran a mad scientist experiment basement lab (???) also im looking at the slightlyraspberry fics and apparently he was a woman at one point (??????)

He was a woman originally yeah! A lot of the genders were mixed around for podcast based on like. the VAs we had lol. In the novel verse, he had a daughter in her 20s who was running the mad scientist experiment basement lab in question (to send high numbers to) while he ran the front for it (the nice sweet cottage.) Beth might actually remember more about this than me so feel free to chime in if u see this 😭

Podcast! Morello has different lore I think. I think he's a bit younger (late 30s/early 40s) and is unmarried with no kids lmao (too busy beefing with 16yos.) A family would fix him

wait sorry if this is too personal but is it possible to talk more abt the px11 novel?

Yeah! I wrote it when I was 15 I think. It followed a gender bent version of Remy and Jay (but I'll just use Remy and Jay for this description) -- I think the plot is pretty much the same until the superheroes thing the musical has -- instead of camping out and doing reckless stuff with HP, Remy gets captured in a facility for high numbers. Dr. Morello is basically running two organizations at the same time (I think his daughter is taking care of the facility?), but Dr. Morello is essentially using the cottage as a front to send high numbers to the other organization. I think the therapy is also a weekend thing in the novel and not an extended stay? But yeah, once she's in this facility, Remy gets tortured through prolonged exposure to her voices until her powers surface, and by exploring the facility's dingy corridors she sees HP and another high number girl, who really wants to attack and eat her I think. Together, they bust out of the facility.

At the same time, Jay is doing the same thing she does in the musical -- seeing Remy's POV in dreams through Clara and Joyce's voices. Daisy and Jay head out to rescue Remy. At this point of the novel, I was having trouble finishing it up, so I'll describe the way it ends but I did have other more expansive ideas for it too lol. I think they meet up kinda halfway in the woods, have to fight with the other high numbers, realize Dr. Morello's behind all of it and go blow up the cottage? Or something of the sort. I think as I was planning this latter part of it, I also played with the idea of transforming into an animal/an earlier life if you were exposed to your voices for Too Long, but never did much with that. I think a difference between the novel and the musical is you are way more lucid when you develop Perfectionist powers in the musical lol, while in the novel it's more about turning to a more animalistic state (novel!Remy without her accessory kinda just behaved like a creature.)

And that novel was based on an earlier start of a novel I wrote when I was 13.....where Remy is a girl I think? I think Daisy and Jay are guys instead. And HP still existed. Remy and Jay were also childhood friends. I think Clara and Joyce were straight.

In both the novel versions, some funky details were also that animals fucking hate Perfectionists because they sense (and are jealous of? unsure) their "perfect" past lives (the reason Remy's parents sent her to the cottage in both is because she gets attacked by animals.) A lot of the 13-year-old novel version featured the protagonists fighting beasties. And in that early novel version, the way to ward off the animals was by using perfume lmao (because it was really artificially made? I think? I don't remember the 7th grader logic.)

hii i am back with another lore question horror of horrors i know but i wanted to know more about the cults + the people who oppose the cults that u mentioned? also Who exactly are the perfectionists 😭😭 ive been like staring at the google doc trying to figure it out lol but id figured id just ask you :)

Cults: Thanks for asking! This is related to the accessory ask in that one clear benefit of a cult that focuses on one line of reincarnated voices makes it super easy to pass down an accessory to the next person. The clearest and least evil purpose a cult serves is to keep people in touch and connect people. A bunch of various cults probably exist/have existed so take this how you will (and feel free to add flavoring etc.) but one way this could manifest is a group of folks with head people who spend their lives trying to be as "morally pure" as possible so that when they die they'll be reincarnated for sure. And I bet when one of them dies they all disperse and flock to various hospitals around the globe to see what baby has their soul now, yk. And then they'd give the baby something to serve as an accessory from their recently deceased friend, and try to recruit that baby and family to the organization, etc. Different cults/groups would have different terminology for what they are, probably also flavored by whatever religious and spiritual practices they are adjacent to.

Probably the way the cults define "moral purity" is what causes opposition, from both other folks with head people and from regular folks who think they're 1) dangerous or 2) makin' all of it up as an excuse to enact ultra-conservative values on impressionable young people.

Perfectionists: In the original novel, Dr. Morello was working with a separate organization dedicated towards cultivating capital-P Perfectionist powers (basically a shitty underground lab where 'high numbers' got conditioned into living without their accessories through prolonged exposure to their voices and then were gonna be used as weapons, etc. Dr. Morello was running the other group as a way to send 'high numbers' to this group.) So the terminology of Perfectionist is used to refer to this more "monstrous" state (a 'high number' who doesn't wear their accessory and has access to powers.) In the musical, I don't think Dr. Morello is doing this necessarily, because his specific vendetta emerged against HP pretty recently. But other folks might've tried to harness Perfectionist powers like this in the past.

I think the word 'Perfectionist' might also have been used by the aforementioned cult opposition by folks who don't have head people. In a more loose, derogatory use of the term, not just directed to high numbers or people who have accessed powers, but to anyone with head people.

i have a maths final tomorrow that im going to fail terribly so obv i am Px11thinking to cope but... what is the science behind the accessories?? like obv it's probably something that means a lot to the wearer but how does it block the voices and how does someone find Their accessory does it just start magically blocking the voices one day 😭😭 if it passes from person to person does it still work... questions questions... sorry ive been thinking abt this for years

YES ummmm if I remember correctly, it's something that one of the ppl in the past lives has Touched before/an item with some kind of tangible connection to one of the past lives. (I don't remember exactly whose accessories Remy and co. own.) So it's mostly up to the parents to be in contact with someone like Dr. Morello and be able to 1) figure out who their child's specific head people are 2) source something that one of these past lives owned 3) Take It/Buy It/Steal It. I think they only mean a lot to the current wearer because they've probably had them since they were quite young, but I think if people don't find a suitable one they end up with an HP-like fate or worse. Or they are disposed of somehow.
