Look at this liquid gold handsome face. I've named him Helios (the Greek's personification of the Sun).

I got him when I was intending to start getting females for my sorority. I got three, but then at my last stop (I live by a bunch of petcos and petsmarts) I saw this guy and just couldn't pass him by.

I've wanted a yellow/gold betta for a while, but many of the ones I'd seen were too bright for my tastes. This guy is just the perfect light yellow and looks kind of like rose gold in the right lights. He's a halfmoon plakat.

In his temporary home until we get the old endler tank sorted. Not fighting with the Cory’s just slightly unsure and scared of them. Poor things not used to having room to swim let alone tank mates. What a stunner he is, though!

He’s lovely! I’m so envious - I’ve been trying to find a betta with similar colouring for ages, but I keep getting scrawny little things because I feel so bad and want them to have a fighting chance. Hopefully I’ll find one with such great colouring when I have the space to get another.

I also have a Game of Thrones named betta, Rhaego. I felt compelled when I got him - he’s a dragonscale crowntail that is light purple, black, silver, and red. He just needed a Targaryen name.

oh we weren’t planning on getting him but we saw him and couldn’t not. He’s supposed to be a dragon scale but I’m not sure of his fins. I’m not very up on bettas, Tyrions my third. I had a blue one years ago called Beatrice (I just liked the funny name) and unfortunately I didn’t know much about betta care then, so he just lived in a little tank :/. Then 4 months ago I rescued a blue lyre tail from work who had fin rot and a fungus infection. I called him stevie and nursed him back to health and he had a good 4 months until he got sick again and we had to let him go. My Dad didnt want another betta but I’ve got a soft spot for them now and he was far too pretty not to get. I was going to name him targeryn or Kahl but I like Tyrion, it just suits him :)

I have no self restraint and ended up getting another male today when I was looking for females for my sorority (I did get three girls though!). In my defense he is really lovely and looks like liquid gold. He is one handsome fish.

Tyrion's body looks dragonscale, but his fins look halfmoon (from what I can see). I don't know much about breeding and whatnot, so I've no idea how accurate that summation is. I hope his colour stays in this range and only gets more vibrant. I don't think he'll change too drastically.

I think it's time to start moving over to my other blog. I'm so tired of having my main blog be a fashion one. Makes everything such a hassle, plus I now follow over 1500 blogs and I'm sure they aren't all active/what I want to follow. That being said, I don't look forward to going through them/am not sure I will.

I just ordered these for my 30g that will become the sorority. They are all about 12" high and range 7"-9" wide (or so Amazon says). I'm getting a bunch of plants tomorrow so that while the tank cycles they'll have a chance of growing in a bit.
