I often wonder how many other asexuals forced themselves to have sex because they thought it would fix them, thought they’d magically understand after doing it, or didn’t realize they had the option not to. 

If I’d known asexual was a thing back when I was trying to figure out why I didn’t want to do things, I never would have done the things. But when you’re told your whole life that you’re supposed to want to do something, that in fact you’re possibly not even human if you don’t, well…let’s just say you’ll do it just to prove to yourself that you’re really okay. 

I just wish I’d known earlier that I was already okay. And I’m damn sure not made inhuman by not wanting or desiring sex.
