People misuse the term more often than not now but it is maddening how common it is for parents to actually gaslight their children. Like it's not rare for people to step into adulthood and realize that their parents fed them a false version of reality, made them not trust their own perception of themselves and the world, and stunted their reasoning skills the entire time.

I remember one incident when I made a recording with my flip phone of my mother screaming at us kids at top volume like an actual demon and afterwards she manipulated me into deleting it and as soon as it was gone, she acted like it never happened. She knew she couldn't let me keep the evidence because then I'd not only know for sure that I didn't just imagine it/wasn't being overdramatic, I could also play it for someone and have them believe me. The biggest threat to abusive parents is their children a) trusting that their perception of them is correct and b) being believed.

Funk's most cosmic bass

Jamiroquai's whole aesthetic revolves around themes of space, the cosmos, and extraterrestrial subjects. Their sound alone feels pretty futuristic, with those robotic, space-like keyboard effects and production choices. Many of their songs also straight-up discuss and criticise modern technology.
