When I was at secondary school, there was a kid in our class with level two autism; back then, I didn’t have the awareness I have now. And this kid was constantly the butt of jokes in class, because of his behaviour, his speech and his outbursts. Everyone in the class made fun of him. I did it too, because I was afraid I’d be excluded if I didn’t, but the truth is I was just like him—I was just constantly putting on a mask. If I were to meet him today, I’d apologise to him for what I did, and this taught me that people should never, ever be mocked because of who they are what they're. Yes, I’m terrible at learning lessons, but I no longer judge anyone so easily.
