when we met, i couldn’t have been more nervous i had never felt this way about a boy before every look, with fluttering eyes, was a rush from the first time we brushed hands, to the first time we kissed; i was hooked our relationship was a slow crawl from where we started to where our feelings led us you made me feel on top of the world, instead of under it like i had been so accustomed to but just when i thought our love was transforming into something great the timid butterflies in my stomach that you had cocooned, in a protective layer of affection, were replaced with knots you grew distant and i grew impatient you lied and i yelled you sugar coated our problems with complements and empty promises and i allowed it my doubts of us weighed me down, the knots deep inside were tightening still i thought that confrontation would allow myself to cut the ropes instead you tied my heart a noose i should have known i wasnt enough for you
