Recently (a couple weeks ago) a girl asked me out, and I rejected her, and now it’s awkward.. She keeps trying to get my attention and I am genuinely avoiding her like a fly avoiding a rolled up newspaper (yes I came up with that simile myself).
For example: I was in a computing lesson and she kept saying my name and trying to get me to look at whatever she was doing.. I finally turned around (in pure agony) after a whole minute of that passed and what do I see? I turn around and she starts… KISSING HER FRIEND’S HAND FOR ME SPECIFICALLY TO SEE?!?! What the point was, I can’t tell. But I know one thing for sure and it’s that she’s really weirding me out.
What does one even do in this situation? Kissing your best friend’s hand in front of your crush which told you that they aren’t interested (and that they’re sorry, I’m not a monster) is kinda strange. She once told me that she saw that friend as a sister and that they have a deep platonic bond, and that she would never consider her as anything outside of a SISTER. So why on earth are you kissing your so-called sister’s hand for my gaze? Do you want me to be… jealous? I told you I wasn’t interested! Why would you get me to look at you intentionally kissing your best friend’s hand specifically for me to see?
It’s not like I judge her for liking women or anything of the sort, I take on the disgusted tone purely out of a dislike of her manner and what she’s been doing to get my attention, along with some parts of her personality which are off-putting…
Another example: The friend which was the unfortunate victim of this girl’s lips is considered her sister (as we’ve covered) and yet, after me hanging out with this girl for a month, she told me that she sees me as just as much of a friend as them… Make that make sense, please. Seriously, though! She called that friend a best friend (using that word interchangeably with “sister”) and then proceeded to call me a best friend. Even at the time I thought that was slightly off, but in hindsight I should’ve known that it was a weird thing to say to a person you’ve only been spending time with for a month, and taken the correct precautions (avoid her to death because she’s acting really clingy to someone she barely knows).
She’s told all her friends (many of whom I love spending time with) and of course THEY are ignoring ME now (I know cause one of them asked me about it and then proceeded to ignore me after that conversation). Do I deserve it for ignoring/avoiding her, or is she just being a serious pain? Cause honestly, I don’t want to think I deserve it. How else do I deal with this outside ignoring her? I can’t stand being around her, especially not anymore, and she is so jarring. Bro, seriously HELP ME T-T
I am NOT talking to her. Literally just now she texted me… what do I do now?? If I block her I have no more chance to be friends with her friends anymore because she’s an attention seeker and WILL tell them. But I can’t just leave her on delivered, because the same consequences lie ahead if I do that, too. I don’t want to respond either, and the clock is tick tick ticking away…
Yeah it’s goodbye to my sanity… at least it’s summer!
Is this what hormones do to some people?! A rejection is not worth all this drama.
