he kind of does… or at the very least the name is intentional
Casper (the oc) does not remember his own name, and originally he was just letting people call him whatever they want. However, after reading the original comics, he started to like the idea of referring to himself as “Casper the friendly ghost”. This idea was reinforced when other people made the connection between Casper the character and him.
so short answer- he’s not my take on Casper, the friendly ghost (the character) or anything but rather Casper (the oc) chooses to refer to himself as Casper directly as a result of the character sharing the same name, because he wants to be seen as a friendly ghost
