Whenever someone on FR complains about the art of something on the site- be it a Breed, Item, or Clothes, I want them to know that Neopets released this in the Year of Our Lord 2025 as a 25th Anniversary Colour for the Eyrie and just appreciate the fact that the FR art team spoils us beyond comprehension, artwise. Yes this is the actual art. Yes the bowtie looks like that, layered improperly over its beak with gradient shading and 1px lineart. The 25th Anniversary PB costs 450,000 NP and isn't available in any on-site store and has to be purchased or traded for thru other users

Neopets: Neoquest I

I’m going to try streaming NeoQuest I on twitch today in about 30 minutes! I’m pretty nervous, but maybe you’ll join? :)

Man, I’m a bit shocked at how excited I am for Dappervolk’s full release.

I found out about it by randomly finding a Youtuber named “Pet Simmer Julie” talking about Neopets (specifically Leopets, and man I wish I knew about that when it was a thing!). She had another vid talking about her experience in Dappervolk’s alpha test, and I basically sparkle-eyed at this upcoming game.

It just looks so pretty? Like, let me build a cute avatar with cute pets and play minigames and do quests please! Apparently it’s gonna have a branching story, too!

Back to DV -- the main gameplay is the branching story line! :) In order to get the pets and acquire items firsthand, you need to strategize which branches you want to follow.

I think there’s definitely a possibility it could come back. I mean, there was that time that the creators of Indomita just gave up and closed the site. But since the players were so vocal about it, the ended up opening it back up and it’s doing great now.

Or it could be gone forever. Who really knows.

Oh man am I glad that Tyra is returning to America’s Next Top Model! What business venture will she introduce us to next?

A few days ago I said I am going to start conceptualizing a new virtual pet sim. I have been working madly between work to bring this concept to life. For now, I’m calling it Project Octavo! this name will definitely change at some point, as the game develops I’ll have a better ideas for the title.  I wont go into specific details about the pets/creatures players will keep at this moment as things are still very early, but I want to share every step of the journey with you all and that’s exactly what imma do.  Right now, I am trying to find a concrete art direction. Art direction, in my opinion - is one of, if not, the most important aspect of any game. I want to nail down specifics of the art before moving into other territory. The first two are experiments, backgrounds and illustration renders. The second few are concept variants for the pets/creatures themselves. The sketches at the bottom might hint to my ideas for the sim, but again.. early days. I’ll keep posting more things as they come~
