it’s through his lense that he figures on thing about ara; that she is astonishingly pretty. he lowers his camera for a second, to look at her with this newfound perspective. just for a second really, before he goes back to capturing the moment. the shutter can be heard even if no flash can be seen. he wants the picture to come out dark, to fit the moment. he doesn’t take pictures to fit the trends of beauty and perfect; he captures reality, moments, people as they are right here right there. when she turns to smile at him, he feels his heart pound. click. this one… he might keep it for himself.
hearing the voice of his so-called friend almost makes sangwon sigh. he lowers his camera slowly. while he isn’t bothered by the tone of seungho, ara reacts a complete other way. he glances at the girl, surprised. moments ago she seemed relaxed, opened and suddenly, he shows up and she becomes stiff. “we were. why don’t you sit down and join us.” he pats the spot next to him. maybe that would calm the newcomer down.
their actions were harmless, but when seungho interrupts them she reacts like a deer caught in headlights. when she looked at sangwon, there was a fleeting moment during which she got a glimpse of how simple and comfortable life could be with him. maybe if her boyfriend never comforted her after he left, things would be different now. there’s a surge of guilt that rushes through every time she holds such thoughts, because she loves seungho. right?
if the young ceo wishes to ease the growing tension, it fails. there is no calming choi seungho when he gets worked up over the smallest things. she knows it all too well and usually tries to avoid confrontation for that very reason. once he gets obsessed over something, his eyes turn dark, almost scary. and she freezes. he scoffs and stays put, hence declining sangwon’s offer to sit down. “you’re avoiding me.” he’s looking at ara now.
“i’m not, i was just-“ she wants to explain but he cuts her right off. “i’ve had enough of your excuses. it’s not just tonight. you’re always off doing your own thing, you turn down events only to dance in slutty oufits at your dance studio, and you hang out with these trash artists... jesus, ara, look at you!” he motions up and down, once again admitting that he disapproves the way she’s dressed. t always comes down to this. everything she does is stupid and useless. and she never dresses well enough. she can recall at least two moments where his mother told her she looks more like a hooker than she does his girlfriend. “oppa, could we not... do this right now?”
