[TEXT; from Petra]: Hey little one. Are you busy this weekend? I need a girl's night before I head back to Russia.
[TEXT] I always have time for a girl’s night with you. Are you really going back?
@petravolkov
nadiabrighton:
[TEXT] That’s what I’m afraid of.
[TEXT]: Well i’m here if you need any back up. Just reach out to her and see if she comes. Then maybe we can find out.

@petravolkov
petravolkov:
[TEXT]: I do. But you knew there was no way you’d get information about where she is.
[TEXT]: To be fair, i’m a hitman too and totally not in any way wanting to hurt my child. But who knows. She might be afraid of him.
[TEXT] That’s where you’re wrong. I’ve seen her. [DELETED]
[TEXT] A girl has to try.
[TEXT] If she was afraid of him, would she want to be with him? I don’t get it.
[TEXT]: Could be. Abused women stay with Asshole husbands all the time.

[TEXT] He has no clue and I plan to keep it that way. You know why I was there.
[TEXT] Holly? I’m not sure. He’s a violent man, a hitman. Who’s to say he wouldn’t lay a hand on her?
[TEXT]: I do. But you knew there was no way you’d get information about where she is.

[TEXT]: You know how mafia men are. Maybe he did. But at least this way you’ll get her away from him for a little bit. Can’t hurt to ask.
[TEXT] He thinks I went to the police to get information. Like I’d need them to get dirt on him.
[TEXT]: LOL if only he really knew.
[TEXT]: Do you really think he'd hurt her?

[TEXT]: When kids don’t talk to you, it’s rarely something you did. If something happened that she doesn’t want to talk about, she’d want to avoid you if she thought you’d make her talk. Just invite her to come out for some dinner and drinks with me. She’s Kira’s age. She can have at least one drink.
[TEXT] I think it’s something her father did. She’s been spending more time with him, she’s practically living with him. I know he doesn’t like me, so he probably said something to her… But you’re right. I’ll try anyway. She might come.

[TEXT; from Mom]: Hey babe. I need you home for dinner tonight. No later than 7. I have something very important to talk to you about.
[TEXT] You say it’s important but is it really? Or are you about to give me another safety in NYC talk? Cause I really don’t need it.
petravolkov:
[TEXT]: I’m not going to ask twice. Be home at seven.
[TEXT] Whatever
[TEXT]: I love you, brat.

[TEXT]: I can’t wait.
[TEXT]: You could try to get her in. I could get Kira too so at least she’d have someone her age to talk to?
[TEXT] Do you think she’d want to come? She hasn’t spoken to me in weeks. It’s like suddenly, I don’t exist.

[TEXT]: It’s about your father.
[TEXT]: I promised you I’d tell you the story one day. It’s time.
The Truth May Hurt

The idea of her actually not coming back hurt him more than he would have thought, and he held her hand and nodded when she said that. “I’ll be happy to catch up with her, even if I wish you were there too.” He leaned in a placed a soft kiss to her cheek. “I believe you, Petra. And.. I really hope I can do good by her. I will do anything in my power to keep her safe. I promise you.”
“I know you will,” she said finally. In fact there was nothing she knew better. “It won’t be easy because she’s a tiny, tough, but vulnerable little you. But I swear she’s worth it.” Lying to him and telling him that she’d had an abortion was simply proof of how much she knew he was going to be a great father. She knew if he was aware he had a child out there, he wouldn’t have just given up. “I can set up a dinner or something before I go back.”
The Truth May Hurt
thebosspuckerman:
The weird hole that weighed over his stomach when Petra said those things got just a little better when he heard his daughter’s name. “Kira… That’s a beautiful name.” He chuckled. “If she’s anything like me you must’ve had your hands full all these years.” He stroked the woman’s cheek and sighed. “I wish you would’ve told me sooner.. That way, we could both-” He didn’t finish that sentence, thinking of what it meant if he did. There was something inside of him that refused to ackowledge what she was about to do, an din a way, it felt like it was just how things were suppose to happenn.
“Oh yes, I did. But she’s worth it. I have all her pictures and home movies in a couple boxes I brought over from Russia. You can have them all if I don’t come back.” She closed her eyes for a moment and then shook her head. “I couldn’t tell you, and I can’t let you be a part of this. I need her to be taken care of and you should have been them since the beginning.” Her hand lay on his chest. “You would have been the best father, Noah. I know that in my heart. I’m sorry for what I did but I swear I just wanted to keep you safe. I hope you can believe that.”
The Truth May Hurt

Puck frowned and let out a deep sigh as he listened to where she placed her hand and he took it gently, then , her words as sharp as knives through his skin, then he looked down at Petra and shook his head before he pulled her into a warm embrace, one they hadn’t had in all the time they were apart. Exactly seventeen years. “If she’s in danger because of him, you should let me help you taking care of it” he said quietly in her ear.
It felt good to be close in his warm embrace and she closed her eyes, silently listening to his heartbeat until he spoke. A soft smile caught her lips and she turned her eyes up to look at him. “I can’t. If something happens to me, she’ll need you.” Petra shifted slightly so she wasn’t craning her neck to look at him. “She’s a free spirit, and head strong. She’ll give you a lot of shit because that’s how she is but you can’t give up on her. You can tell her that this was my choice, keeping you two apart. She won’t give you an easy time of it but I promise it’s worth it. Kira is.. she’s so smart and talented, and she has no idea how good she can be. She’s a lot like you were in that regard. Just be patient with her. Don’t let her get away with everything but she’s a teenager and she needs to have a little bit of fun from time to time.”
The Truth May Hurt
thebosspuckerman:
Puck had been in the business long enough to catch on the meaning of what she was saying. The actual meaning. So, while he still had burning and nagging questions about the fact that he had been deprived of meeting and seeing his daughter for such a long time, a child that he had loved so much when he found Petra was pregnant, he now frowned and let out a deep sigh before he leaned back on his seat and drank a long sip of his whiskey before he spoke again. “You’re telling me because you think you might not make it out of it alive. Is that it?”
Petra didn’t want to say the words but as soon as Noah did, she felt her chest tighten. She’d known it. Mentally, it was all there. And she’d come to terms with missing out on her daughter’s life. But she never dared say it out loud. Not until now. She took a breath and looked away from him. “Kira isn’t going to be safe as long as he’s around, and i’ve never been strong enough to even have a chance to change that until now.” She put her drink down and then reached her hand out and rest it on top of his wrist. “I know you lost all this time with her and that’s my fault. You don’t have to be part of her life if you don’t want to. Seventeen years is a long time.”
