PSA I got hacked/terminated + an apology
[*Note: if anyone tagged in this post would like to be removed, please lmk asap in my askbox as I currently don’t trust my DMs rn! Also, when I provide context to as how I got hacked alongside my screenshots, please know that I am not trying to excuse any of my actions. I am only trying to show what happened in the first place/show this for educational purposes.
This post is going to be an explanation about how I got hacked, how I got my account back, serve as a PSA to other users to not trust this hacker, and be a formal apology to everyone I might’ve hurt in the process. And, if anyone wants to, you may take screenshots of this post to upload on your story or as your own separate Tumblr post if you don’t want to reblog this.]
Hello everyone. My name is Fandom.
As you may or may not know, my Tumblr was recently hacked on Thursday April 9th.
However, on Friday morning, I was able to get it back thanks to Tumblr Support and my mutuals/the mutuals of my mutuals:
@starriegalaxy , @deyisacherry , @rambunctioustoons , @acheronlovely , @the-river-runs, and many more
After I finished my evening class for uni, I was contacted by a Visual Novel creator regarding how my account got “accidentally reported” 69 times by them and their friends when they “meant to report someone else.” Being extremely tired from my class, and thinking that I screwed up badly with a creator about their on-going project, I panicked. Really bad. I wasn’t aware at the time that the VN creator was hacked by “Victor,” and that this was a scam in the first place since I am not an active Tumblr user. I don’t know all of the scams Tumblr has as my mains are Instagram and TikTok.
My brain at the time wasn’t working properly, so I thought this was legit. I never want to cause any harm, trouble, or drama for anyone — and if I do, I want to make sure that I can fix it or at least do something about it. I take full responsibility for my actions, especially since the hacker used my account to harm many others.
To everyone the hacker has messaged while impersonating me, I sincerely apologize. And, if they took over your blog(s) afterwards, I apologize for that too. I know it might sound a little silly apologizing for someone else, but part of this is on me. I should’ve been more careful with how this hacker approached me and not fall for their scam. To protect my account, I changed my password, added a two-factor authentication, and took some other security measures.

I’m not sure if this will be the same for anyone else who had their blog hacked, but it worked for me so I’m sharing this information here. If your blog(s) got hacked by “Victor,” please use Tumblr Support and fill out a ticket explaining how you got hacked. Then, in the email you use for Tumblr, you will get a reply back from staff saying just to reply above the line for confirmation purposes.
Once that’s done, they will disable the two-factor authentication you need to reset or change your password (since “Victor” will most likely turn that off in your settings). Please make sure to use the same username(s) you use for your blog(s) and change your password. Once that’s done, you should have all of your account(s) back. If that doesn’t work, try to contact a friend or two to spread the word about how you got hacked (or keep filling out a million tickets like how I did haha ^^’).
Right now, as I’m writing this post, many other users are falling for the same scam. The way it starts is with “Victor,” DMing you a “hello?”
DO NOT fall for that simple “hello?” message like I did! They are trying to engage with a conversation with you in order to gain access to your account(s). To block/report this hacker, this is the Discord and WhatsApp number they use:
If you have Discord, WhatsApp, or both platforms, don’t start a conversation with them but add “Victor” in order to report them. If enough people report this guy, then their Discord and WhatsApp they use to hack others might get suspended or banned.
Now, after this incident with my account, I am choosing to take a hiatus from Tumblr. The hacker, in my opinion, ruined the little reputation I had here. If you see any new posts from me, it’s most likely going to be queued content I plan on cross-posting from my Instagram. I might have new content to post, but that will be later on once I think it’s time to do so.
If anyone would like to personally reach out to me, this is my Instagram (mind everyone I took this screenshot a couple of days ago):
I might not be able to answer asap, but I will get back to you if you have any concerns, comments, or questions.
