Sounds like a successful party to me. Aw, I do love our snuggle fests– you’re like a little ray of sunshine that soothes all my pain.

I feel you there. I think I’m going to have a headache for days.

Days? I don’t think my brain will ever be the same again.

I’m sure the certain blonde you’re talking about wouldn’t have minded since it was her party.

In which way are we talking, Peyton? The hangover or Hale?

Right. But we both know you would have.

The hangover. What does Hale have to do with that?

Knew I should’ve been pulling babysitting duty.

Drink some water, Pey, before I decide to force it down your throat.

Pulling babysitter would have meant no dancing with a certain blonde.

You should be gentler with me, I’m fragile right now.

I didn’t drink enough, but did you at least have a good night?

Some parts were great, some were not so great. Waking up next to you was the best.

hale cooper​:

He smiled softly at Peyton, his head shaking at their antics. The light mood, the joking… Hale would hold onto that exact moment for as long as he could and commit it to memory, using it to get him through the veritable hell that his life had become. “I’d only want you to be a piece of gum as long as you’re the Hubba Bubba kind– that was my favorite one growing up.” Hale welcomed Peyton into his bubble, it was like she belonged there; like she was an extension of himself. He slowly breathed, nodding as his eyes watched her carefully– even now, she was looking out for him. Always making sure that she never asked for more than he was ready to give, but the thing was… he’d give anything for her. “I really do love you, Peyton,” Hale’s voice was quiet, one of his hands gently running through her hair, “I needed this… this time together. I never realized how be separated from you could hurt as bad as it does.”

She smiled with excitement and fondness, “I can be the Hubba Bubba kind. I’m very sweet.” The feelings she felt was similar to its core as before, but a hundred times more intense with the revelation of their romantic feelings. Staring into his eyes, Peyton felt like she was both grounded and lost in them. The sway of their bodies as they danced was making her forget about all the conversations she’s had tonight, soothing the troubles of her stress. She knew she had to stay away from Hale until things were solved, but Peyton didn’t think she would survive without having some form of connection with him. This wouldn’t happen often, but she needed the comfort of him to carry her through the tasks both Robin and Joel had given her, even if it was once in a long while. Her thumb brushed against his cheek affectionately, “I love you, so much,” she said quietly, but her words sounded loud in the room. “It kills me. I know it’s important, and I’m not trying to change things. I just... I miss hanging out with you, you’re one of my best friends. It doesn’t feel right to be apart.”

Nothing is tastier than tequila, Peyton, but you can’t go wrong with Johnnie Walker whisky. Depends on how quick you want it to hit you– you feeling shots, or mixer?

Let’s mix it. I may or may not have already had a few shots as it is.

nathan finley​:

What, would you rather call it me being the mayor heir apparent? That’s what I essentially am.

“You already know.” Nathan glanced around briefly before stepping closer to Peyton and whispering, “I told Hale and now I’m telling you hoping you’ll actually listen. If you value your friends, if you value your family, stay away from him. Now, my mother,” He waved his hand a few times, “She deals in threats, on the other hand, I’m reasonable.”

“I was thinking along the lines of a hobby, your interests, not the robotic routine of yours and Robin’s work.”

Dread filled Peyton at Nathan’s words. You already know. There was only one person who was fixated on Peyton’s whereabouts and it was Nathan’s mother. Peyton felt dread at him knowing, but she also felt sick that if he knew, it meant that he was somehow a part of it and another secret that Peyton had to keep Grey from. Her expression instantly shifted to show the betrayal she felt; how could he let his mother do this to his sister? They both knew how much this would hurt Grey. She sure her face showed every emotion his words evoked as they stabbed into her, twisted inside of her like poison. “Hale has nothing to do with this, so leave him out of it.” She shook her head as she looked Nathan up and down, “I do value my loved ones– one of whom is your sister, in case you’ve forgotten. So, don’t come over here trying to tell me that if I do anything but what you say, that I don’t value them. That is so fucked up Nathan, and so fucking wrong of you.” Her eyes were filling with angry tears the longer she looked at him, this brief encounter was enough to shed a light on everything Grey had told her. It made Peyton hate him, and all the good she thought of him was gone. “You’re reasonable? Do you want something from me too, Nathan? Instead of my brother are you going to ask me to cut myself and bleed for you on this floor? Why can’t you just leave me alone? What more do you want from me? She’s already taking pieces of my soul. What else is there to be reasoned over?”

We can trade clothes, I don’t even give a crap at this point– I think Lo just wanted me to advertise her next line she’s going to be dropping soon.

Trading clothes sounds amazing. Getting to wear new stuff that no one has yet? This sounds like a dream rather than a nightmare.

“Your brother’s totally going to kill me for being an awful influence.” Luca plucked the extra shot he ordered for himself and clinked the glass against hers with a wide grin, “To taking it like a champ, Adams. Fucking cheers.” He tipped his shot back and smacked the counter with the palm of his hand, “Another round!”

“I am an adult, Hayden does not control the things I do,” she said with a roll of her eyes. Hayden made sure everyone still treated her like some kid, it was beyond annoying despite loving her step-brother. “Cheers,” she cheered with a grin and took her shot. Peyton laughed when he asked for another and nodded her head enthusiastically. “We should play a drinking game.”

I was only given permission to wear one of his special suits if I promised not to outshine him tonight, not that I ever could compare. Saw Grey floating around, I think I saw the rest of the rat pack too. Me? I, uh, I actually came here with Lady…as maybe more than friends.

Of course not, that would be a travesty for Maddox’s reputation. Yeah, we’re all here tonight. Also that is a horrible and insulting name.

Wait... you came with Lady? Oh my god – spill the details, Carson.

I wouldn’t have said it if I didn’t think he was– I’m no liar.

Yeah… let’s not cross into the weird territory, but it’s real cute with you both being wives; you two compliment each other very much for that marriage to work out. So what you’re saying is that I’m going to hide anything sharp just in case I get on his nerves real bad and have to start avoiding projectiles? Everyone needs someone to remind them that it’s not all doom and gloom out there, you know? Things can be bad, but there’s always an upside.

I don’t blame you. The grumpy-hot person is supposedly very addicting.

She is one of the great loves of my life, I would do anything for her; you should come hang out with us all one day. I don’t think you have to worry, but maybe keep him away from the garnish cutting station for everyone else’s safety. Yeah... I know. I’m glad you can be his.

As you should, I know I’ll be rubbing the fact that I’m going to bed with you tonight in everyone’s face. I just love seeing their jealously over the love we have for one another.

You know they could ask to join us. What will you say then? This crowd is definitely searching for sex-capades.

It’s a party special that we offer.

Ezra winked as he rose to his feet walking to the bar closest to them and grabbing a vodka and a couple shot glasses. Walking back with the procured goods, he sat down next to Peyton again; pouring the drinks sloppily into the glasses, “I figured you’d need the hard shit right now.” Handing one of the glasses to her, Ez inclined his head slightly before drinking his in one fell swoop and grimacing. “Want to talk about it? Or just get fucked up?”

“Well sign me up for more.”

Peyton laughed at his wink and watched him walk away for a moment, then her eyes were looking over the room and at the people milling around. She focused on him again when he was back, smiling slightly and nodding. “Yeah, the hard stuff is good.” Peyton thanked him and took the glass, drinking the shot in one go and shaking her head at the taste. She sighed and shrugged at his comment, “I can’t talk about it, even if I wanted to. So, fucked up is kind of the only answer.”

hale cooper​:

Hale let out an oof at her words, letting himself look physically pained from them. “Cold sores, that’s a low blow, Adams,” Hale responded sternly but let the smile grace his lips again, holding his arms tighter around her as she pushed away from him; of course if Peyton really wanted away from him, Hale would relinquish his hold. “Well, if you think about it, I guess ever since I kissed you that first time, I realized that it actually was something I wanted to do for years,” he said honestly, his blue eyes softening as he took in her features, his hand gently tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. “So if I promise to give you plenty of kisses before the night’s over, you’ll finish the romantic dance with me?”

Peyton grinned and shrugged nonchalantly, “Well when someone goes low, you go lower, Cooper.” When he tugged her back, Peyton fell back willing into his hold. She didn’t want to leave, not when she had no idea when she would be with him again. Peyton was going to make the most of every moment with him. She held to him tighter, looking at him softly as his words made her warm. “If you keep saying things like that, you are never going to be able to get rid of me. I’ll be a piece of gum on your shoe.” She moved closer to him, pressing her forehead against his and smiling. Peyton would do whatever if he was involved, everything was made better with him. “We can have a hundred dances, I will always dance with you, Hale. And you don’t have to promise me kisses to do it. Or anything.” Her hand moved and cupped his face as she looked deeply into his eyes. “But I do really like kissing you. You’re ridiculously good at it.”

hale cooper​:

Hale couldn’t help the dramatic roll of his eyes when Peyton poked his lips, keeping them moving in the song he made up in his head; one hand running up and down her back soothingly. “They’re top notch, they probably have their own fan club,” Hale said with a mischievous grin, his arms tightening around her as she brought him closer. “I dunno, I lasted this long without kissing you and making out with you before, I think I’ll be fine. I’m very stubborn.”

Her nose scrunched slightly with her smile, shaking slightly with silent laughter as he rolled his eyes. His lips were definitely top notch, but Peyton was never going to admit that freely to him. Her ego was already bruised a little, their dancing and the soft touch of his hand was the only thing stopping her from feeling the embarrassment of wanting to make out like a pair of high schoolers. “The fan club disbanded when I told everyone you get cold sores, sorry.” Her smile dropped and Peyton gave Hale an unimpressed look. Peyton tugged herself back slightly, threatening to break away from his arms. “Fine. I’ll be stubborn too. No more romantic dancing in spare rooms for you. I only let people who kiss me do that.” Her face softened a little as she raised an eyebrow. “You make it sound like you’ve been holding out for years,” she laughed from how absurd she found the idea.
