Week 5- Final Week before the show
Week 5 was probably one of our worst weeks i all honesty. Joe was very ill for the major course of the two only lessons we had in the week. However after alot of nagging from my behalf made it in for a Rock School Session on the wednesday at 2:15.
That did not stop Dom and I as we tried our best and used Ramsey as our stand in Joe for the time being. We went through and rehearsed each song until it hurt (obviously that is an over exaggeration), but we went through every song and its safe to say im not too keen on any of them anymore.
Dom and I also designed our setlist for the gig
1. Naive
2. Start
3. Cocoon
4. Fluorescent Adolescent
5. Champagne Supernove
6. Are you gonna be my girl?
Week 4- Fluorescent and Cocoon
Week 4.2
The majority of the week we managed to fit in two more songs. We achieved both to our best abillity as Dom, Joe and I all knew the songs anyway and there wasnt much to do other than perfect them. We practiced after college and when we had breaks between lessons . We also had a little time to try out any songs that we thought sounded good however we didnt add them but we probably would of if we had more time.
Week 4- getting the gig
Week 4 was mainly about getting our gig. Kevin the manager at āThe basement Doorā was very open minded and said yes to it straight away.
week3 - JamvsOasis
week three was mainly about dom and i showing off our individual talent. he will be singing start by the Jam and I Champagne Supernova by Oasis.
we started my solo a bit later into the week so therefore not much practice has taken place towards it. however, Start is sounding very good and will be a good song to listen to.
We have got Both Are you gonna be my Girl and Naive completely ready to perform for everyone on the 26th and i will be emailing Kevin manager of the basement door by the end of the week.
week2-Jet
For the first half an hour of our 1/3 lesson this week we practiced Naive as we will always need to keep rehearsing to make it sound better.
the rest of the week was mainly focused on getting the right speed to sing are you gonna be my girl. As dom couldnt reach the higher note in the chorus we decided unison singing for this song wasnt gonna happen so he will now be singing an octave lower so he doesnt strain as much.
Joseph will have his own small solo in this song, showing off his guitar skills.
the song has a lot of energy in it so we will need to be willing to put everything in and give it our all as otherwise it may be difficult to pull off.
Lewis will play base for this song and Olivia will be on drums.
week1
this week in our āthe flagsā chose our first song. Naive by the Kooks. We firstly looked at how we were going to perform the song whether we would sing in unison or sing in harmony. Dom and I found that it was better to sing the verses in unison and the chorus in harmonies. Joseph would also be singing the end chorus and it makes a 3 part harmony.Ā
after nailing that song after the first week we planned out our second song of are you gonna be my girl by Jet; which we would work on in Week2.
Our first cover song
