With my friend Nao we are huge fans of World Trigger and both felt like this series is still underrated, so we decided to write a recommendation journal/post about it :)

pros and cons of World Trigger anime/manga

PROS:

- not a harem anime/manga. The number of casts is big but no one has a crush on the protagonist yet, and he doesn’t have a crush on anyone either.

- on that topic, very minimal fanservice. The common form of fanservice in this anime/manga is good looks, for the girls and boys alike. No giant boobies.

- super realistic main protagonist, who starts off weak but very intelligent and willing to improve, and really takes his time to improve. You want to see “the chosen one” as main protag? Go read Bleach and Naruto instead.

- encouraging the casts to overpower the opponents using wits instead of raw power only. Hell yeah. Brain power over muscle power!

- the main protagonist is in a clique of three, who share a very strong sense of camaraderie among them. Moreover, no one seemingly has developed a crush to one another. There isn’t any aloof vengeful edgelord a.k.a Sasuke-expy among them.

- lovable casts. even the ones who rarely show up are interesting and lovable.

- the soundtracks of the anime!!!! Really recommend you to listen to “Ranking Wars -Reasons-”

CONS:

- the pace is quite slow.

- kinda confusing worldbuilding.

- confusing fight scenes (which also happen in the anime).

- the openings and endings of the anime aren’t memorable tbh.

- the manga is in a hiatus since idk 2 years ago?? and thus the anime hasn’t been continued since 2014. Just like Hunter x Hunter. Why are my faves always go on hiatus!?
