31/1/2017 Having finally gotten used to having a baby, it's time to get to work on trying for another. We've spent the evening filling in forms ready for our appointment on Thursday.

Posting this on 17th Sept 2016.
After the previous posts Domino was called into hospital. We spent a few days there, had a terrible delivery, spent 3 days in the High Dependency Unit, but everything came good in the end. Life instantly became a whirlwind and I didn’t have time to breathe, never mind keep this blog going. I always meant to come back and post a photo of the baby, and now I’ve finally gotten around to it. So here he is :)
We had a 6 year war against infertility. In the end, we won :)
9/11/2015 Domino had another sweep this evening; hopefully it's more effective than the previous one. Apparently there's been some progress, but not as much as I'd like :)
8/11/2015 Well, today's the day when the boy is due. No sign of anything yet :/
5/11/2015 We saw the consultant for the last time 2 days ago. He recommended that we have 'the sweep' done, followed by an "IOL", i.e. an "induction of labour" if the sweep doesn't work. This morning we went to our final midwife appointment where she gave Domino the sweep. It's a fairly undignified process - the victim lies on her back , knees spread, soles of the feet together. The midwife then shoves 2 fingers 'up the punani' (to quote Ali G) and pokes around the cervix. Domino tells me it wasn't painful - she's had worse. Felt like the beginning of 'the scratch'. The midwife reported that everything was 'soft' which is the first sign that things are getting moving, and also that the cervix though not all the way down was progressing downward. Stats: 50% of first time mums will go into labour within 24 hours after a sweep.
22/9/2015 If I were to make a list of the "Top 5 Places I Don't Belong" this breastfeeding class would be in it.
17/9/2015
Just had a scan to see where the placenta is in relation to the cervix. In previous scans the placenta has been totally covering the cervix which means that the baby would have to be delivered by caesarean.
Turns out that the placenta has moved 5.5cm away from the cervix which means a natural delivery is possible!
10/9/2015 The pram and carrycot have just arrived - the cardboard box collection is growing... He's not even born yet and he's taken over the place :/ 59 days to go! 👶🏻
5/9/2015 Out shopping for baby stuff... Brave new world...
26/8/2015 Domino had her Anti-D shot today. Another milestone! 74 days until the boy arrives :)
18/8/2015 Monitoring :/
18/8/2015 After a 1 hour 20 minute wait, Domino is finally strapped into some monitoring stuff. Seems the boy is fine. He's started kicking again :)
18/8/2015
On the way to the hospital. Domino hasn’t felt the baby kick today :/
Interesting timing - we've got a consultant appointment later in the afternoon...
So, I may be a little early for the ante-natal class...
10/8/2015 27 weeks today, and we're going to our first ante-natal class... I wonder what mysteries we'll learn...
3/8/2015 The baby has been kicking for a while now, but today we felt (and saw!) him slowly turn around for the first time...
